OK heres the truth, those seniors that have worked all their lives and invested yet not fault of their own have been all but raped by the government and unscuplous investing firms and stock frauds... cannot afford needed medical or personal home care.

I am considering providing that type of care without giving the government their slice of my pay... I have already located and found numerous elderly whose children have expressed gratitiude for what I am doing and providing.

one case alone it was costing the family 49.00 dollars an hour (4 hour minumum). to provide what only takes hour. 200 dollars to assist someone in and out out the shower.

whats your thoughts CS members? If on a jury would you find me guilty of tax fraud...knowing I receive no supplemental assistant from the government of any kind.

I mean this field of care for elderly and otherwise impaired individuals is growing exponentially. just at one condominium complex alone I have been approached by others just from word of mouth of what I'm doing.

thank you I hope those who feel as you are on the jury when this finally goes to court.

currently a neighbor of one of my clients who is a RN and just recently acquire a MBA who also has started her own home care business has made threats of contacting authorities as to what I am doing as illegal.

these functions i provide are as simple as insulin , incontinence care, eye drops and physical therapy, hygiene, range of motion ....probably the most significant thing is attending the doctors appointments with them...which the family members really appreciate. all I'm doing is what any member could and would be able to do if they where residing with their parents.

thank you so much

sadly public opinion on issues like this has little bearing in a court of law.

to those that are curious...yes I'm making more than if I was to work in a hospital setting or under the license of a home care providing corporation.

I knew i would be operating outside the legal parameters of the law and without a safety net when I begun this. I just thought it would not be discovered so quickly.

I too applaud what you are doing, or considering doing....but only if it is entirely due to the injustice you describe and not to make a quick, tax free buck.

While it may be a very "good" thing you are doing,

I doubt that "good" has any relevance in our tax code.

Just remember, "No good deed goes unpunished". In court your motives may or may not be allowed as evidence and even if you win you'll have to pay a lawyer. No one ever really wins against the IRS. They have unlimited resources and love to use people as example cases. Just ask Willie Nelson. Good luck either way.

If you're serious about this you should look in to incorporating as a non-profit. BEFORE you give the IRS a bone to chew on.

If I have understood you, it is commendable, no doubt. But, if you are earning from this practice, you are just as obliged to pax taxes along with anyone else. Noone is exempt....

What needs to happen is that other than high earning doctors and consultants becoming extremely rich at the expense of the poor who cannot afford any healthcare is for the monetary gain to be ploughed back into a healthcare provision/service.... just as with the UK.

God bless the NHS!! thumbs up

I wish you good luck too but there will be that one person who will "rat" you out. Always the way.
