Its all interpretation Al. I think it has more to do with their psychic capacity than any mechanism associated with Astrology. They could equally rely on Tarot, and be just as accurate. The tool doesn't matter, it's the practioners gift...

What does that have to do with astrology (knew something about you before you even sat down). Those kinds of predictions are what psychics are infamous for. A psychic predicted awhile back that a dude with receding and curly hair would "rock her world," so I'm thinking there has to be something to that.

Makes me wonder if I should start another poll about belief in psychic phenomena. sigh A philosophic troublemaker's job, apparently, is never done.moping dunno

Hi everyone..
I think astrology has some scientific bases, we do live and interact under the influences of the planets of our solar system...I think it's a good tool to understand more abt oneself...take conscience abt our potentials and limitations....nevertheless it seems to me that predictions in astrology are a bit subjective...only true or false after the ''fact'' has occured...no?

I respectuflly disagree my friend. I spent time studying it myself. Math calcualtions and having to refer to the ephemeris constantly, nailing down the angles, conjunctions, oppostions, nodes, mid heavens ad finitum. And each of those has a meaning. It is not just a psychic judgement. It is actually calculated and based in scientific results. I tells ya astrology is as old as dirt, older than religious gods, as far as I know.

You are right about tarot though. A huge problem with it is the same as with astrology, People interpreting things wrong because they haven't the skills or the psychic wherewithall to do so, soley to make money. I have never found tarot, (in my own use) to be wrong, but through the years have often found my inability to interpret them properly. You wouldn't beleive how many times I have tossed in the bin because of what I interpreted only to find later I had misread or ignored a combination affect.

Its like putting a ten yr old at the wheel of a car, really, and expecting them to know what theyre doing. Granted there will be the odd child with talent but only rarely. Dont let a child drive your astrology.

hello to all ... wave

... and now to your main question - fact or fiction -

when you mean this kind of astrology, which based on:

your birthday,
the exact time, when you are born
and the place, where you are born,

I say:

... yes it´s fact ...

... I got my own experience ...

otherwise ... the astrology written in the newspaper is a joke ... fiction ... fun ...

have a nice day ...

cheers cheers

I've studied it myself. As I said, I believe even the math is a matter of interpretation. Being as its based on Ptolemaic systems, the math may work out, but has no reflection on reality...We live in a Copernican universe, and the signposts of the constellations are viewed anthropically.

I wonder if you could predict anything about an Aquarius on Vega?

Well now youre erroneously lumping psychic and astrologer in the same breathe, A psychic purports to predict from ethereal knowledge. An astrologer uses mathematical computations, not psychic. More like knowing the steps in assembling your life, as a plumber might be able to tell you why and where your drain is plugged.

Relativity would demand some observational differences dunno the angles to vega change the computations and likely what planets are closer and hence more influencial. And since the characteristcis of those planets are not known to me, i cant help ya. When you get there you'll be the first.. oh I'm just assuming that rolling on the floor laughing I suspect an aries would get there first ..laugh

now an aquarian in a vega would be totally out of this world. dancing banana

I have picked number 2, not that it is documented but it should be, there is analyzing in everything, i don't care where you reach for a subject, a place, or a thing or a person, there is an analogy for it all, so in saying, i believe that when we are born there is a gravitational pull on the earth just like there is every second of the day and i believe it has something to do with the levels of chemistry in your body, yes i know this is way out there but it is what i believe. We all have similar properties as far as basics go but the more in depth you go into each and every individual there is deff a difference although a similar pattern.

Ever tried to analyze a certain name? seriously, if you analyze a certain name of say like a woman you will see the hight percentage of likeness there is in behavior and character, you think me crazy on this jeff i know but just look and see what i am talking about.

so when i say, i am virgo/leo and i cusp on it? i really mean i am a wildchild, didn't you get that already?joy cartwheel joy cartwheel joy cartwheel joy giggle hug
