I've noticed that lots of women find astrology interesting or fun, even if they don't believe it offers fundamental truths. My impression is that much fewer men take it seriously. Assuming my impression is correct, does anyone have an explanation for that?

Also, I'm very curious how believers in astrology acquired this belief. Was it through a critical review of extant evidence and logical argumentation, or through other more intuitive evaluative processes?

I believe in it. That the stars project a stream of energy with defining characteristics is emperical evidence. Mix in numerology, and you get the truth for your nature and paths in your journey this life time.

I'll add more later, I really need a jog here in Vegas before the temps hit 6594858903485034 degrees....

I'm normally pretty open minded but Astrology is one subject i really dismiss as absolute bunkum!!

When i was at school i was in a class with a girl the same age as me, and was born pretty close to me on the clock!!

Quite how someones astrological chart can define someones future is beyond me and all the rational thought i can muster!!

I know people who funnily enough were born only a couple of hours before me(cousins) and the material difference, their personality and lifes paths are so different from how my lifes journey has taken me on a road to chaos i have all the empirical proof i need to completely dismiss astrology.

Ironically both the Germans and British in WW2 used astrologers for planning purposes and for that reason alone it would account for why so many good people got killed on the word of ranting charlatans.

Nope.

She tells me where to point it, and we get there.

The Aquarius is only driving because he knows the neighborhood.

It's where he's from, after all...laugh

Can really a good astrologer predict with total accuracy the free will/acts of someone's mind? I think he/she can only suggest...no?

anyone can suggest though, if you look at it, think of one womans name and look back in your history, how many women have you known by a name like that and how many were alike or so close it was unreal? it is all in the characterization of it, brought about by analyzing

I don't know what you're complaining about Stressless. That sounds like a positively cool day in Vegas...

By the way, best of luck with your dad (heard he was having a bad spell of health?) and with your stroll down San Fran's memory lane. I'm sure the weather will be slightly cooler there.

And have a nice journey to Arizona...

I can say that I don't use astrological charts or think that astrology is going to define my future in detail...cause it does not really. It may drop hints of some of the struggles I will face in encountering the inner conflicts I may confront, and they have been kinda almost dead on.

I do think astrology is roughly pretty accurate in defining the genreal characteristics for our behaviours. Trust me, every Virgo I have met has indeed been known to be a control freak and very organized....

laugh I have no doubt there are many charlatans in all fields of human endeavor; but the dynamics of positive and negative associations such as virtue and fault extensions. One child may exercise stubborness, the other patience, both being born of the same steadfast attribute, one attribute leading to two different paths. As well even one second of difference changes the angle dispersion and hence its affect. Not to mention changing arcs in progression. No two snow flakes are the same...nature's design.

Hitler used christianity to win the war too.. rolling eyes

Ah, I get the spontaneous unorthodox aquarianism.

But my rising is sag., so that makes the expression of my aquarianism Taurean (second house). Very paradoxical.

(besides, I have massive capricorn influences in my chart, which makes me more earthy than some airheads...laugh )

thumbs up

Stress, while I respect your thoughts, feelings, & personal experiences... it's not right or fair to lump all Taureans together. Or people of Earth elements. It depends on the planetary positioning, and many, many other aspects, as well.

I once knew an Aquarian (tons of earthy planetary positioning in his birth chart) who acted more like a Taurus than I do. But then again, I have loads of water in my chart, as opposed to earth....

wave
wink
