Have you been there yet? If you need ideas of where to visit i'll be happy to point you towards some lovely things to see!

What pictures dont show you though where the heather lies on the hills and the mossies will eat you alive!!

Too true!!!

Take my advice and avoid the Highlands late
August and early September.
I've known people to come home early just
because of those damned midges.
They eat you alive.

I know this is fairly obvious but try to get to Edinburgh when the Festival is on there. You'll see loads of cutting edge comedy acts being road tested before they take their show on the road!!

Big tip though, prebook your accommodation months in advance!!

Another great place to visit is Inverie.
With a population of about 100 it is
the only place of its kind on mainland
Britain to be entirely cut off by road.
Situated on the edge of the Knoydart
Peninsular it can only be reached by
ferry or an extremely long and arduous
trek through the mountains.
You can find the remotest pub in Great
Britain there, I think its called The Old
Forge. Well worth a visit.thumbs up

There's more Celts around the world than the ones who didn't escape yet! Mind you i visit my families home up in Jocksville occasionally (last time was 5 years ago and i was due to go about a month ago!!

Free advice,Avoid Blackpool like the plague but even more so in "Scots Week".I've heard about it from relatives who used to go and it isn't pleasant!!

What got me is why on earth go to Blackpool in the first place, i'd rather drink my own urine than holiday there for a weeklaugh

Scotland a lot like Croatia actually when you look at some of the rolling valleys.Did you notice that?

Ah and avoid the legendary "deep fried mars bar" and "black pudding".....grin

The numbers are considerably swelled during
the summer months. There's a campsite, a few
b&b's and a hotel.
Some friends of mine used to go there on New
Years Eve, but they used to walk in through the
mountains.
Probably staggered out though.laugh
In fact i was talking to someone just the other
night who had just come back from Inverie.
He used a sea kayak to get there from Mallaig,
the ferry sails from there also.

Hope you make it there one day.thumbs up
