The Sierra Club and the US Forest Service were presenting an
alternative to Arizona ranchers for controlling the coyote
population..It seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and
true methods of shooting or trapping the predator, the tree-huggers had a 'more humane' solution. What they proposed was for the animals to be
captured alive, the males castrated and let loose again so that the
population would be controlled..This was 'ACTUALLY' proposed to the
Arizona Wool and Sheep Grower's Association by the Sierra Club and
the US Forest Service.

All of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of
minutes..Finally, an old boy in the back stood up, tipped his
hat back and said, 'Son, I don't think you understand the problem. Those
coyotes ain't f--kin our sheep - they're eatin' 'em.'

Sounds like a true story to me.

In South Carolina sorta the same thing with the deer population. The tree huggers wanted to dart the deer with birth control. The birth control that was suggested by the biologists rendered humans sterile if the meat was consumed. South Carolina no to the birth control and put into law that the only way to control the population was to hunt them...... I applaud the state for doing the right thing.
