In your fairy tale land maybe. Here in the lower mainland there are gangs .... so there are a lot of drive by shootings going on lately as well as the crimes from people stealing to support their habits.

No, no, no, drive by shootings?

Everyone knows Canada is a gun free nation.

we have drive by shooting all the time, Canada is not gun free the cops now have a gang unit to investigate and the stabbing here was drug related. Two doors down they sell drugs.

I was approached by a gang of hoodlums one time in Louisiana. There was about 6 or 8 of them. I punched the two that were closest, and they all ran away.

Another time, also in Louisiana, I was riding a bicycle home from work. A carload of youngsters drove by, and swung an ax handle at me but missed. The four of them got out and said, "You're about to get your ass whipped!"

I took a .380 out of my waistband, pointed it at the guy with the ax handle and said, "Oh, Really?"

They ran away too. They came in the store I was working at the next day, and apologized. They claimed they had me confused with someone else. Someone without a pistol next to his pistol I guess.

I am very fortunate, I live in a relatively safe neighbourhood, yes. We have very little trouble of any kind and I don't feel the in the least unsafe when I go out, even at night.

I do feel for those less fortunate, the wrong type of neighbour can make one's life hell, I have no doubt!

cheers

you are very lucky cheering in the area that I live in, police go around in 2's for safety reasons, you can buy anything you want even after 10.30pm aslong as it is not a pint of milk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we have squad cars and riot vans round on a regular basis, there has been at least 5 murders, umpteen stabbings and lost count of street fights in this areasigh

But one thing I do know is that I have good neighbours and we all look out for each otherapplause applause

do I feel safe dunno as last year I was sprayed with pepper spray in the face for sticking up for some young kids on the way home from school, the person that did it to me was a 38yr old drunkconfused
