BnaturAl: That's what boxing ourself in is all about.

Two million cells in our body change daily, the landscape of the planet undergoes changes at a phenominal rate evry secioond and here some humans still hang on to their little box, unwilling to change anything... to even think diferently about who they are or more importantly can be... Love dont work in a rut and it surely knows no bounds.

age may just be your rut... so many bricks after so many years... hire a muscle guy with a jack hammer and get to work!!

I hear what you are saying but what people see here is only a facet of who I am. Box or no box I don't do slutty in public for anyone. Decency and decorum are social tools not boxes. If your christmas present wasn't wrapped then there would be no fun in opening it.

rolling on the floor laughing a mild touche' ... though I said nothing about slutty and was only an example of we as humans cling to an image of ourselves and won't let go.

Social tools... even brings up a box image, tool box ... when there are a myriad of personalities here and in the world at large, we choose one and ony one image to show, as if we need to be this one image.

Sticking to that image confines our beliefs and makes us shrug or even get annoyed with others who dont fit our little box image of social. Go to a fine restauraunt and you'll find a bunch of people all conforming to an an iron ass image, as if thats how to 'be' ... Its not how to be, its how they define themselves in that environment... because they have created socially acceptable for that place. Personally i like to smooosh gravy all over my face when I'm in such environment and watch all the jaws hit the floor and quarters fall out of the cheeks of their arse. Image shmimmage.

The mother in me is already spitting in my handkerchief to clean the smudges, at that image.rolling on the floor laughing

We are different things to different people.

It's not so much how they see us as what we show them in recognition of what we perceive they want to see, if that makes any sense.

Often we have reasons for giving out a certain image, but that doesn't define who are are in totality. Same circumstances, different people, we'd act or be percieved differently. I dont believe there is a limit to who we are. Maybe some don't know that.

Very good question.... me being a mature male if 45 can't really understand why a woman who just happens to be a whopping 3 years older has a hard time with that. Personally I would rather date a 25yo woman, but I have this attraction to a 48 yo woman. I am kiiding about the 25yo woman thing. At the midway point in our lives, why would someone have the problem of me being younger? I just don't understand it. I am thinking of changing my age on my profile to 82yo.

I slept earlier. Was working late a couple of nights ( making my sister's wedding gown and trouseau), and internal clock finally got me tonight.

I like boxes, or facets as I prefer to call them, as long as ther are many of them. If I saw and knew everything about someone then there would be nothing to interest me. Nothing to indulge my curiousity. I really like my curiousity being indulged.............rolling on the floor laughing

trish123: Ive noticed when looking at guys profiles that quite a few of you still prefer to go for nobody older than themselves and in some cases up to maybe 5 or so yrs younger - whats this about? My own preference is sort of the same age give or take maybe 5 yrs or so - Im not into the toy boy thing but am just trying to understand this attitude of 'definitely not older'

I would like to interject here, if I may. You see, I am one of the "older" women. I am 61, but to me, it's just a number. I spent 20 years of marriage with a man that is 19 years younger than I. And, now that I am on these dating sites, it is wierd how, so many times, a younger man, and I am talking in their 20's, 30's and 40's, will contact me. I, personally, find men my age, and older, are a turn off to me, as they act "old", and I may be older, but that is just a number to me. I think in this day and age, age should not be such a big thing. Why is it, that an old man, can carry on with a young woman, and they say "Way to go." but if I am with a younger man, I am called a "cougar." And, I am supposed to act my age. Well, I am not old, I am just chronilogically challenged! And, I am not giving up on having some fun, as long as I feel like it!peace cheers hug

Claayer: I notice that.. I see some 2-5yrs up... and 10-15yrs DOWN.

I don't mind dating older women the most important thing to me is that they have my best interest in mind and heart. I've had some dimes that were less than zero and some 3s that I should have married. We all mature at different rates and some of us never do.

Thank you, Trish~
I say, women unite! I am tired of being put into that little stereo-typed box of what women my age are suppossed to be like, and look like. I can't help it if I don't fit into that little box, and I am not sure I ever will. I say, forget your age, and be who and what you want to be.cheering

My situation is just the opposite .

I had a younger guy then myself from this site kinda sound upset cause I made the comment in another thread that I don't date younger men. He replied to my post and stated that he'd heard that comment before on how older women won't date younger men. My intent was not to offend him or anyone else. I was just giving my honest opinion. That's just how I am. I guess when it comes to my age preference I'm just as bad for having the same attitude as some of the men.

I don't know if he saw my reply to him but,I replied back that I thought he was a nice man and a gentleman but I would feel like I'm dating my two sons.

I have to admit as I read through some of the men's profiles on here and see their pics there are some pretty handsome men on here but they're way to young for me. Some are not that much older then my two sons and my oldest daughter who's 20 yrs younger then me.

I read somewhere that some younger men perfer older women cause they feel they're more mature then women their own age. Just like some younger women perfer a older man.
I don't know how much of that is true but I have read it as well as heard it said.

I've listed in my profile that I'm only looking for a man 59-70 yrs old.
