Drooling emoticon is definately needed. Sourdough, or any sort of good tasty bread. I'm rather fond of dark rye with loads of butter on it.love

I'll dig out one of the Dutch ovens and make a huge Strawberry Gooseberry Upside Down Cake, complete with Rum Honey topping - So save room for dessert!

2 thumbs up

Making something out of nothing has long been one of my culinary specialties. I discovered this particular recipe years ago, quite by accident at a Mountain man rendezvous out West;

Needing something for the potluck dinner that night - and the chuck box being nearly empty except for a couple of cans of pie filling, a cheap yellow cake mix, some honey and a bottle of rum - my best friend and I decided to grab a Dutch oven and experiment... The results were absolutely fantastic!

Any filling can be used - and I've tried several over the years - but my favorite is the combination of Gooseberry/Strawberry that I mentioned.
