Great thread Riya.. I have just been reading throo it all.

I read something once that said something like.. Men recognise/feel 15-20 different emotions.. whereas a woman can sense/feel 50-60 .. all the little ones in between.

Like men see red blue green yellow orange etc... but women see all those AND everything in between.. lilac.. plum.. lavender.. dusky rose etc etc

It just don't take a lot to make most guys happy!
Great sex, good food, Great sex, sleep, Great sex, job, Great sex, fishing, Great sex...............

Oh........... did I forget to mention Great sex!!!rolling on the floor laughing

I'm just frustrated with the perpetuation of all the myths and BS that's been handed down for generations. Most believe it's all true. sigh

Once again it comes back to the hunter/nurturer thing...

men actually have tunnel vision...which was important for finding and stalking prey......

as nurturers women need to feel and sense more emotions...babies cant talk so we often sense whats wrong by the different cries...

wave hug

can you get the vodka of Harry...I need a drink toowine

You seem very wise and you are veiwing things with great objectivity based on what you see as facts as opposed to slanting more towards biasness that is quite rare to say the least.... I also think everyone on this thread are giving good truthful anwsers

Just look at how a man is preceived by women a couple examples
If someone breaks into your house is your expectation of a man to A) run and hide under your skirt or B)Go find out what's up and take care of the problem

example 2 when the car breaks down on a highway in the snow or in the rain would you want your man to tell you "shit why don't you try and fix it I'll stay in the warmer car"
EX 3 when in war would you have any respect for a man that would breakdown and cry when someone in his platoon was killed... Well the man knows his friend is dead but if he stops right then to weep others can be killed, its for the greater good thats why the men are so emotional at a military funeral of one of their pals, partly because of guilt that he couldn't help his friend.

and this will be the last one I write 4) women need comfort, well men need comfort also, but usually we would rather comfort the woman because we are raised IF your not dead then there ain't nothing wrong with you...

now women don't think men show them much comfort but what alot of them fail to realize is that what you maybe crying over is something that cannot be reversed, dwelling on something will not change anything, sometimes you do have valid reasons but other times you may cry cause people picked on you about ??? being fat thats say we feel bad that your crying but it isn't something life threatning it just words so we think that is just stupid because we know ther are thousands of people out there with real problems so we few JUST AN INSULT as being irrelavant

Lastly from when your a child you vew mom as the helper and dad as the rock if your dad was crying all the time would you really have respect for him as a MAN. So ifyou look at it as a whole then you can see GOD made us this way and women expeting men to do certain tough or rough or dirty jobs makes us who we are..... and thanks RIYA, SXC, all of the guys that told it how we feel it to be.......

Now now you dont live somewhere here do you ...

Keeping in mind the cultural perspective , i couldnt disagree one bit.
Its like men are meant to be playing a certain role .. esp in most eastern societies that i know of. Its almost like defined roles of what its got to be like... a lot of it is due to the views that have been passed down the generations , religion , scriptures and the societal ideal of a model man or woman.

Actually i think many times it goes difficult on men ... cos of the immense pressure they live under.

hug

No, it's the generalisations and perpetuations that get to me. sigh

There's more seperation than there is coming together as a population from all the BS that we spread. Men and women are NOT from two different planets, we're not after two different things, we're in this together and the sooner we all realise this the better.

Like I said, maybe I'm fucked.sigh
