I went and had a MRI done yesterday, and it was the worst thing I have had to do. No pain but to be pinned down and that thing put over your chest and that head harnest snapped on. I felt like I was in a space suit. I had to be very still for 40 minutes, seemed like a lifetime.

I will never go for another one of my head again.

I am able to stay still without pinning me, I hate to be not able to get away if I have too, even though they give you a panic bell. I keep telling myself I can do this, no I cannot, get me out of here. I did manage to stay even though they had to keep telling me to control my breathing. I hate having panic attacks but I did it.

I do not know what a closed one is but I had to go inside this machine which is like a large long donut with all this stuff on me so that I do not move. My arms touched the sides of the machine.

I know, those things can be terrifying. Did they suggest to you that you could cover your eyes with a cloth so you couldn't actually see that the thing was right in your face?

When I had mine, they gave me ear phones with music playing and gave me a cloth to cover my eyes. It wasn't too bad. But I know what you are saying about being strapped down.

I would have been fine if they never put that harness on me, to make sure I cannot move. If I needed to I could just push my self down and get out, is knowing that I cannot move is what brought on the panic attack.

This machine made too much noise to be able to hear any music, they put ear plugs in my ears to drown out the noise. I could not see anything with this plastic device over my head and chest, they gave me a mirror so I could see out.
