that is , to say-I'm quite touchy feely at all times now- I am quite comfortable walking arm in arm with my 'girlfriends'- or kissing all my -good-friends- male and female 'goodbye' on the cheek. Funnily enough- it's only since my dad died that my brothers and sisters and I started kissing and hugging each other goodbye, but i really like that we did.-maybe we needed that reality check to make us appreciate how we feel about each other??dunno

Indyfella: That I agree with...but there's people at work that come up and put their hand on my shoulder and I just give them "the look". I don't invade other's personal space...and I like mine respected. Now if it's a really hot gal...totally different story. She can be all over me like white on rice. (joking....at that)

I had a guy put his hand on my shoulder once.I told him HE'S GOT THREE SECONDS to remove his hand off my shoulder,or I WAS GONNA TAKE THAT HAND OF HIS and throw him across the street threw the second story window.

He removed his hand fast.

SMART MAN.

roseofsharon: Can I just make it clear that this is not about personal preference, the differing personalities may or may not like being touchy-feely per se but....
Its more about the human condition..... I am not particularly a touchy-feely person myself but to not be tactile with any other human being (in whatever form)... ever? Yes, I do believe that would have an impact on my general well-being...........

And, this also includes simple physical presence of another human being. Could any of us not have ANY inter-action with others and not feel it in some way?? For example, if you never needed to go to the store, have a coversation with the assistant, a passer-by, a colleague, a neighbour, if you didn't go to work, go to the gas station....

How many of us could truly be okay with that?

The town I left from, I tried to have as little contact with the people there as possible, except for the ones I did contract work for.. I prefered being alone there, but at the same time I was lonely for that human touch from a lady...

What is that supposed to mean?? confused
I'm a touchy person I'm always hugging someone... there is some people out there that just need a hug to make their day better. I love making others happy or just smile even if I make a fool outta myself... lol get it from my mom! But hugs are the best hence, the reason I call one of my best friends Mr. Huggable!

One touch can soothe, comfort and convey caring in an way words never can.

There is a healing power behind the touch and we all experiece that, all the time, without even realising it.

I think at times we forgot about the power of the physical contact; some of us never really developed that state of comfort when touching the others, some of us might loose it when changing the environment ( some cultures are more prone to close contact than others).

And there is also the reason behind the touch and the chemistry with the person you touch.
I am a tactile person and living in an environment where people hug and kiss when they meet, so it's really easy to make body contact.

But of course that can't be applied to everybody and there are plenty of people I meet and just shake hands with and that's perfectly normal.

I think a hug, at the right moment, from a person who really cares, can make a great difference.

If someone wishes to hug, that's okay by me. If they don't hug, that's okay too. It's all good.
