roseofsharon: It has become apparent in our society lately that there is a serious lack, due to more people being single (in whatever fashion and for whatever reason), living alone and possibly having lost contact with others along the way, of what human beings need the most.... to be tactile.
Research has been done on this and has concluded that we do, in fact, suffer as a result of lack of physical touch. It is so prevalent now that it has even been given a name..... "skin hunger"!!
Investigations show that human beings (and, indeed, animals) need that physical contact as a basic need. Its not just sexual contact, even if its just a handshake, holding hands, a hug, cuddle, kiss (even on the cheek) or just the physical presence of another human being.
Do you find that the company of another makes a difference to your day, or even to your very well-being?? And do you feel that difference should you NOT have some form of inter-action with others?
C'mon.... give us your views? Every little helps, ya know....
Interesting point, I am an affectionate person so I guess it would be quite terrible if there was little physical contact in my life.
