As people we are different from other forms of life for superior forms of emotional expression and the ability to think.

Its still amazing how in real life and on the internet some people seem to be less thoughtful or perceptive about anothers sentiments while being careful in safeguarding their own.

" Do unto one what u would like done unto u " ......

... long forgotten and extinct .. hmmm

While the only problem is not lack of consideration theres more when its insincere and casual ... like a good morning or goodnite .. have my shoulder .. give me a smile .. dunno

I wonder if we are regessing or growing ..

It does seem more and more that "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" has been replaced by,"Do unto others FIRST"

I think on here we grow closer, but outside of here, I wonder if we are the same as before?

grin

dunno Probably a little of both. I think basically mankind is the same as we've always been. There are more and different ways to express acceptance or disregard of others now, and it's more obvious now when people are thoughtless and selfish. But when you get down to it, I don't think basic human nature has changed that much. Mankind has always has the capacity for great humanity or horrendous cruelty.

D'oh! OMG, it's too late to be thinking this deeply. grin

The thing is we are not Kid... really think about it... while evil and bad deeds as well as a capacity for tremendous goodness will always and ever be there.. the way we are evolving in society with increased commercialism, longer working hours and eroding freedoms has meant the the 'simple' values.. the ones which work best no longer represent the norm.. for many leading a simple life is a distant luxurious dream (or at least it will seem that way) because they are so inextricably caught up in the responsibilities of life that they can't break free.. pointl Living a simple life. Pretty much always have. It's a choice everyone has. And some people in society have always been so caught up in materialism that they can't enjoy simple pleasures.

I think we get too caught up in nostalgia for a time that never was. Life was never perfect. It never will be. And lots of things about the good ol' days weren't so good. We think looking back that it was, but we weren't there, so it's just our perception of it. dunno But then again, how would I know?

I agree Aries.... but can't think of any solution as to how to reverse the trend.
