To be fair.. she is TRYING.. She makes a big effort before she goes to sleep.. early night.. lavender oil.. herbal sleeping tabs (as of 2 nights ago)..

She just can't do the UPPPP thing.

Anyone know any fail safe ways of getting them OUT of bed in the mornings?

My daughter is almost unconscious when it's time to wake up.. (really!) No matter how early she gets to bed.. she is practically comatose in the morning.. and it's becoming a big problem.

I wake her every ten mins for almost 2hrs.. and I just don't have time to faff about doing that every day.

When I say wake her.. I mean it's at the point now where I have to make as much noise as possible AND shake the flippin bed.. ...

Gone are the days of.. Morning honey, time to get up .

Any ideas? ... anyone else have one of these teens? ...

MY boys aren't like that..

I haven't read anyone else's response's yet, but I say BEAT HER ASS
that in my opinion is whats wrong with the kids today the GOVERNMENT wants to tell you how to raise your kids and parents are afraid of of giving their kids an old fashion ass woopin. shit I grew up in the projects All my neighbors were allow to wooooop my ass. didn't no body give a shit about the DCFS. I'm not say punch em in the mouth or anything, but their ain't nothing wrong anking them with a belt your hand or a paddle. Kids will keep pushing your limits as long as you let them. when you draw that line in the sand you better not reposition that line... or they will walk all over you. Hell I have one cousin that won't come to my house with his kids, cause they are BAD, and he doesn't beleive in spanking.. " it just a phase they go through" talking about his kids cussing him out..... Shit I look at it this way if the kids are at my house acting a fool THEY WILL get their ass beat don't care if their parenet is around or not. cause if their parent don't like rules they can leave with their brat/s Damn didn't realize I wrote that much sorry..cheers

^Obviously has never raised a teenage daughter.

Claire, the real question is how do we survive it? I don't know, but we manage ... barely.

But that is where gray hair comes from! grin

There are no right or wrong answers to raising kids, especially teenagers. They're all different, and no one answer is right. His idea might work on some kids. Others would just use you, or not even care what you might give them. My daughter was the latter. There was nothing I could do or not do that made a dime's worth of difference.

You just gotta let em know you love em, even when you wanna kill em. And pray for the day to come when they're grown and gone!

And remember. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing them when they're teenagers! I have gotten my much deserved reward! grin

Ahh... I was always the early riser had to be my mom was a single mom when I started school as my dad walked out on us for 2 yrs. I had a sister that was 2 yrs and 9 mths younger I helped my mom take care of. I was up at 5 a.m. went to my gmas at 6 and caught the bus at 7. I started doing that when I was a toddler! Have done it ever since. For me going to college was different it took me time to realize I could sleep longer. lol... Until the last half of the 2nd semester I found myself up twiddling my thumbs! lol ... but for my roomate she had to have a alarm clock that would wake the dead! I would have to literally pull her outta bed for her to make it to tests and classes! My other friend Ashton getting her up is like pulling teeth I normally have to take the covers. and get her shoes and tell her if you don't get up the breakfast dude is gonna close up before we get there. I guess in a sense I play the mom getting them up!

I guess... in a sense my body was trained to wake at a certain time I don't use an alarm clock even in college. When it is time to get up and go you better be getting up and going! lol... if I ever didn't get up on time... lol just the threat I would have to wake up even earlier was enough.

Not having read the entire thread. Has anyone said...sleep disorder?

If I understand the concept correctly. When someone does not get enough REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, they are hard to wake in
mornings. REM sleep is that deep restful sleep that, we need to recover and refresh.

Maybe have her looked at by a sleep therapist, Claayer.

On the second thought. a 3 year military service hitch with a bugle and a sargeant waking her in the morning might change the habit as well.
:-) Guarranteed when they do a bunk roll out on you.....you wake.
Well is cheaper than a therapist.
