I'm wanting to make a cd of songs that are fun to sing with, old or new rock and roll, upbeat country, honky tonk, anything upbeat and happy, to listen to with my grandbaby. I got the idea while listening to a sing a long dvd I got for her, a couple of the songs are rewords of "real" songs, like When the Saints Go Marching In, and the aerobics workout favorite, M I C K E Y Hey Mickie. The songs that came to mind are stuff like Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog, and Your Daddy Don't Rock and Roll, a couple others I can't think of right now cause it's too late and too much wine.

So give me your ideas, I'll be back later, gotta turn in now, even though I don't have to work tomorrow, I mean today! yay

"Don't Bend Over in the Garden, Granny, You Know Them 'Taters Got Eyes"
(Okay, maybe that one ain't the best choice!)

Puff the Magic Dragon
The Unicorn ( by The Irish Rovers)
Sneaky Snake (Tom T. Hall)

Think ...

sing along

upbeat

baby in the room.

Don't think talk dirty to me would be quite appropriate! The rest are up for consideration!

How about some of the old Roger Miller songs?

England Swings (Like a Pendulum do)

Can't Rollerskate in a Buffalo Herd

Engine, Engine #9

Kansas City Star

And about a jillion or so more that I can't think of right now.

I am no expert when it comes to little kids, but I myself love the songs from "The Wizard of Oz", for instance... Maybe your grandbaby would enjoy them too.

I'm not really looking for kiddie songs, I can buy those all day long. Stuff that I know and like that would be fun for her too. She laughs when I sing to her. Don't know if I should feel flattered or not, but I just love it! Our favorite kiddie song is No more monkees jumping on the bed! I bounce her up and down on the bed when I'm changing her and sing, well really chant, it to her!
