Sky I am not against civil protest. Indeed...I walked in protests of the Veit War one night while in college..its was orderly and with out violence and hate. A cablde light walk....

We returned to campus that night to find SDS (a far left anti war group) destroying the ROTC building. Burning flags. etc. etc. etc.
I realised then....that the far left would steal peaceful civil disobience for its own political purposes. I have opposed the far left since.

The hyprocricy of the far left....seems to merits little to me....on one hand they can be against the war in Iraq...and be for the war in Afghanistan. War is war. On one hand they can be for Obama being published in NY Times but against McCain being treated the same. They can be for major news anchor giving on the Obama tour to the middle east, yet say nothing to those organiztion that don't treat McCain the same. They can host sites like Kos, Huffington post and others that daily are hateful in thier content....and never say a word. One McCain follower seriously says the 'R' or 'N' word and they are in total attack mode. E.g the comment of Senator Gramm were foolish but there was nothing hateful about them.....and look what he got.

So if you are concerned about having a honest and fair administration the next 4-8 years.....if you cannot see that the far left influnces in the Obama adminstration would keep it from being one....that it will fliter in hate and deception into it....well I have done just all I can to point it out and to make the connections for you.

My apologies to those on this thread for my earlier post. Even though I meant what I said, this was not the appropriate place. Now back to our regularly scheduled program....

I well remember that time Tom, I'm only 2 years younger than you and I had my eyes wide open. Then too I felt my own feelings and had my own thoughts. I was against that war and that administrations tactics but I never marched or engaged in violent protest, it is simply not my way. I also never blamed or shamed the soldiers who fought in that war and would never burn the American flag, I love my country.



No matter what you think of me I am concerned with having not only a "honest and fair administration the next 4-8 years". I still think that we have Not had this for the last 8yrs with the current administration. Some of what has happened can and should be kept out of the public eye but everything? That's a little bit of playing God and I am not a worshiper of that deity.

The far Right and interest groups are just as deadly an influence when it comes to running our government, I agree that far left influences should not rule the next administration either. I think to solve this problem we need to take steps to insure that our system of checks and balances is working properly.

I think we need to find means to remove the power all these special interest groups have in our government's processes. Otherwise it won't really matter who is elected will it Tom? Big Brother will win as he has been doing all along and the rich will keep laughing all the way to the bank.

Sky, not intent here to rant or to twist your words. I see you defending Obama.....I am coming at this, that Obama shift to the mid road is nothing more than political expidency to get the Hillary voters and mod dems to stay with him. That once in power he can easily flip back to the far left. Indeed that is the plan. Once the Dem moderate voter make up thier mind to who the next President should be....this presidential election is determined, by the way. So do you trust a man that flipped into your positions. Or do you trust a man that has in his history as a Senator, stood there by them? Because McCain has consistently stood for moderate postions.

It is very similar to your connection of McCain to GWB. You are concerned that McCain will simply keep GWB positions. Well in some yes.....Iraq for one. But in energy? In Homeland Security? In ecomonic
reform? in Washington Reform? ....McCain is far different than the GWB paint that he has been given. He has been consistently moderate in them all.

The far left picked one issue to paint McCain with to GWB...Iraq. Now the far left....ala using the media....like NY Time and the major chanels anchors...are even keeping those different messages from getting to
the American people.

They will get them from different sources, I know. But that the far left plays like this in a free press and free speech society ought to concern you. If you let one end of the political spectrum silence the other end, then your end could be next. I have never, or GWB has never, and McCain has never said silence Kos or Huffington post. They respect freedom of speech enough to let it be said. BUT...where does freedom of Speech end...and hatred and inciteful speech begin? Where is the limit to free speech? The Supreme Court has tried to define it. And has done a lousey job of doing so. Lincoln gave a pretty good line to it.

At one time early in our countries history...they had the sedition act.
That defined any hateful or wrongful statements against the Federal Gov't and its officers....punishable by fine and prison. Put the sedition act on Kos, Huffington post bloggers and others.....and our full prisons would doing hot bunking.

Hot bunking is a term used in the Navy for sleeping more than one to bed.....one goes on shift...and one uses the bed to rest. These guys would be in jail in the 1780s - 1820s for what they are saying today. They would be criminals.

So how many far lefts are in Obama circle and his group of political favorites? I don't know. But why take a chance? I know what is in
McCains circle and his political favorites. Not someone that that in our countries history would be doing time for his words and actions.

Tom I don't worship that deity either. I'm not a blind follower of anyone human, matter of fact I'm not a blind follower at all.

You just might have to consider me one of a kind Tom.

One of my first post on the Obama thread...with Dude....was that I could support Obama....in 4 years time. That this term was not the
right one because of his expereince and he had not lock stepped
into the mid road American values well enough for me.

I willing to give Obama a shot....not literaly...in four years if he stays
to where he has flipped. I want to see consistant position making in
for next President, that is in line with American values. GWB missed doing it in a couple of ways, in my opinion. He had a General that he
should of protected and could of protected get hammered, because he did not.

GWB missed doing it. Most of the other Republican canidates were missing on it as well. McCain is about as close as they come to it.
Even when I was a independant, I liked McCain.

I know that Tom and I trust that about you. It is far too easy to get so barraged with angry people who shout absolutes and don't want to hear what you have to say. Makes anyone cranky, me too sometimes.
