Not nececcisarily...ofcourse your chances of hooking up with an alcoholic womanzier are greater, but if you are intelligent enough or intuitive as I am, then you can weed right through them...I met my ex in a nightclub..he is a really nice person...very nice...we were actually thrown together by the people we were out with that night, and neither of us wanted to be in there or meet each other...we were married for nearly 24 yrs...so, you see there are other reasons as to why people meet in nightclubs so they are not always on the prowl...use good judgement...innocent

I'd have to say that night-clubs are a bit different than your corner bar.

People go to night-clubs to meet other people, at least in my experience. They're, for lack of a better term, meat markets. Bars, well, people go to them to get drunk. Hooking up is only a happy accident (or unhappy, depending on whether you have to chew your arm off in the morning to escape).

After several bad relationships and marriages a woman asked, "Why do I always wind up with drunks and alcoholics." She was told, "Because you go to bars and clubs looking for men."

My brother met his wife in a bar, and they are only social drinkers.

What type of activities do you like to do when you're not working? Do you belong to any clubs/groups or do any volunteer work? How about asking friends/neighbours? Networking is the key and letting others know that you're looking - they may know someone who's free and looking for a relationship as well. Good luck.

I haven't read the other posts yet I almost always read them afterwards

I say it depend on what you are looking for I one nighter fine bars are the place and sometimes youcan find a good person thats not a drunk at the bars and a slightly better chance at a club

But as for me NO I lived in bars for about 8yrs. as soon as I got off work from framing houses, doing concrete or from my welding jobs I always went to the bars til close, 6days a week and never once took anyone home from there.. no matter how drunk I was, falling down or whatever I always turned down every advance even when they were hot . That's just me. Then when my daughter was born in Aug.07' I quit and haven't had a drink since. I will not date someone from a bar period.cheers
