I think this is definitely the best policy , for some one not to be straight with you from the start is a big turn off thumbs down

This is true also you are not only letting the person you meet down, you're letting yourself down and most of all you kids by hiding the fact.

Personally I will never hide my kids. Im proud as bloody punch of them.wine

You are on track buddy. Your son is part and parcel of who you are, so its always best to be upfront about it. Most dates are going to fall by the wayside so maybe you should not discuss your boy much till you know you got something concrete in the works. That way you won't have someone owl eyeing you later with a WTF am super out of here.

I agree with Tina I tell people right away about my son cause if they can't accept that fact then I dont need to waste my time on them. JMO

Most everyone I meet finds out I have a kid straight away. Course now she's grown so it's not an issue as far as dating, but she and my grandbaby are the loves of my life, so it's just natural to talk about it.

I do think it's a good idea not to introduce young kids to everyone you go out with, till it does develop into something solid. The kids get attached, and if a breakup happens, it can hurt them worse than us. Plus if kids are exposed to an endless line of men/women, it might not be the best way to teach them about healthy relationships.
