Yes if some one wants to end their suffering and are of a sound mind when they make their choice it is their right to end their life

absolutely YES!!! I have a living will, though it's in New Hampshire( so if you suspect i'm croaking it here, do let them know!!) and nothing terrifies me more than being stuck in a body that i can't control, hold my kids, in incurable pain etc, and having no say in whether i live or die. no one shoudl have control over whether I live or die, other than me. ( please don't say God- if he was on my side, would I be in that situation?)

as a district nurse who regularly loks after the terminally ill in the latter stages I have much more to say about this but want to think it through first!!

but if they want to die?- isn't it cruel to force them to endure more suffering?

well I have way to much compassion to do such a thing.I would never get over helping someone to kill themselves.

I work in care.. I do the personal care for some of the terminally ill..

and I totally agree with you

Ive felt that way many times with the fatal disease I have,but I have children and g-children to consider.To me its a very selfish act.
