I think that every parent should encourage their children to marry once they have left high school, just to get the first marriage over with. It's all practice. The stat's say that 54% of first marriages fail anyway. So let them get it out of the way at a young age. We tend to marry at about 28, it usually fails. So, why waste all that time dating, searching, and without any real experience ?

Of course I write this with tongue in cheek, but it does have some validity.

I married at 18 as well and missed out on a lot of things that 18 year olds should be doing... Now at 31 I am in college and trying to live in my "adult world" with "adult responsibilites" including trying to be a good mum... It gets hectic. I wish I'd had waited and went to school and been a good little girl... and had a little fun and traveled a bit grin

I don't take any stats for value...... start running a stat life may as well start taking part in stats..

"The Grass Is Greener"

Listen lady I did a Liquor store world tour (tryed a beer or 2 everywhere I went, was fun and Igot into the travel mode I'm 41 and today I was so wanting to jump flight as I have a few things to do overseas sound like fun?

Every morning I wake up alone, I travel alone, my family is so f%8*#d up I stay away from them alone, I see other people with kids and I stare and wish those kids were mine, my choice took me out on a long road alone......

is nothing wrong with the choice you made just enjoy it...

We've all got our own issues... I could share mine but prefer not to. I don't always believe the "Grass is greener" on the other side.

I got married at age 20.

That was my first marriage and it lasted 12 years.

My OTHER marriages lasted about 15 minutes each! laugh

See Joanie you first stunt was the longest running....LOL

Anyone who has ever married, majority speaking, did not enter such with the idea of getting a divorce or fore seeing bad times ahead.

I think a more positive frame of mind and the mind set to change stats would work far better then "doing it just to get it over with".

Sure not always to we make the right choices and mistakes are often had,but life is living and learning and that comes with lots of trial and error.

Hmmmm. Tongue in cheek maybe but there is some sense in it.

I married at 18 and after many years we divorced but I was still young enough to go out and change my life.

I wouldn't want to get married again though.
