Men are generally very visual so if you are here hoping to meet someone nice then perhaps it would not hurt to have your pic up. But if you are just lounging on the forums, then its cool.

Think its just natural curiousity. Don't think that it has anything to do with the things that you mentioned.

Think in the long run its probably better to have a picture posted - just saves people having to ask and saves you from being disappointed when others don't bother writing anymore after you do post your picture. Seems shallow - but I've experienced it myself.

Sometimes I post a pic, sometimes I don't. In the beginning I wouldn't even consider it. Generally speaking, I have become better friends with are the ones who didn't care about the pic. I like the fact that the friendship and/or attraction was not influenced by looks.

We're all here for different reasons, too. To each their own!

Here's the point: Anybody who is going to be corresponding with you, will want to see you....right up front. Unless you have something exceptional in your profile that catches my eye, I'm not even going to be bothered. Frankly, I rarely read blank profiles....to be honest. Now, if you are interested in communicating with someone, you know before being asked that he'll want to see your pic....why wait for him to ask??....If you don't want to post your photo on a public dating site, fine, but then at least offer that person an alternative to see be able to see who you are.....
