Thank out Founding Fathers

I was out and about this morning doing my shopping and such. About 330am I was walking across the parking lot to my car when 2 guys aproached me. One kept saying "HEY" in a loud voice. They stopped in front of me and I made sure to keep the shopping cart between us. One asked me if I had any money. I replied that I spent it all shopping. I then notice the other had what looked like a knife, but I am still not sure. I then said wait I might have $10. As I reached for my back pocket they seemed to relaxe a bit. Instead of pulling out my wallet, I pulled out my .40 auto. They freaked and took off running. I called the police and gave a discription of them and they cop seemed to know who they were.

Thank Our Founding Fathers for the Second Amendment for right to conceal carry. I am still shaking over it.

Cool, I'm glad you're only shaken, not stirred.....

Your ending comment tho, requires serious comment. Why thank the 2nd Amendment??...all that achieves is, EVERYBODY is allowed to carry guns....so not only the good guys carry guns, but so do the bad guys.....and the bad guys KNOW that a lot of the good guys carry guns, so they carry BIGGER guns....get my drift??...In the end everybody is armed to the hilt, and everybody is just less safe. It means that in every robbery case, there are going to be firearms involved...The only thing that you can be lucky about, was that the guys who tried to frisk you for cash, beloged to the minority of petty thieves who can't afford their own weapons yet...

...you had a lucky escape....next time, you'll have a .38 special in your face before you even have a chance to reach into your back pocket...

...and the other golden rule that I learnt while living in South Africa is...."Don't carry a gun unless you are pepared to use it..."

My question is...." Is it worth it??...just give him the fuckin' 20 bucks, and then go to report it to the cops....at least you get home in one piece...

Look at it from the other end....

criminals will have guns whether the law abiding citizens do or not. There are home invasions here every day where the unarmed home owner are killed. I want to have the chance to defend myself when my life is on the line. I could die on my knees with my hands in the air or I could die taking the criminal with me, or I could just be that much quicker and accurate to walk away.

Because I carry a gun doesn't mean I have to pull it. If a gun was stuck in my face I would have handed over my wallet.... the point is to get out alive. I am not going to take a bad position and make it worse.

I walked away with my life, no injury and my wallet.

Let me add this.... criminal carry to have the upper had. now that the playing field has been leveled, a few think twice about it.

In indiana a woman parked her car in the driveway late in the evening when getting home from work. a guy jumped her from behind from her bushes and tried to drag her into her house. She was able to pull her handgun out and shoot him in the face over her shoulder. She saved her life, prevented a rape and possible murder and she tried to save his life in the end. She was an ER nurse.

My ex's cousin was in a convience store robery while there to buy something.... He was shot as the robber was exiting the building for no damn reason.... he survived, but is still pretty messed up.

I personally know dozens of people that carry and not one has ever shot anyone.

Crime in Michigan has gone down greatly since they adopted the conceal carry.

If guns were illegal, only the minority of petty thieves would have guns....

The way it is now, only the minority DON'T have guns....

if you're carrying a gun, and you get held up, the chance are that bullets will fly...

A lot of the time, the reason why you get held up is....they want YOUR gun FFS!!!....

I still have not seen a convincing logical argument on the 2nd Amendment that could change my mind. I have been a gun carrier in the past.... so I'm open to logic on this issue...

Thankgod Zee .. you are ok .. comfort

But i feel exactly as Lagoona says .. carrying means being prepared to use it under a LOT of circumstances apart from the one u faced.

It can be crazy .. all kinds of loonies are armed cos its legal.

2 thumbs up

In a way, I kinda' envy you. Being a blackpowder buff, the only 'repeating' handgun I own right now is a .44 cal. 1858 Remington "Buffalo" with a 14 inch barrel. Kinda' tough to conceal that bugger! wow! (But I get the same reaction when people see it.)laugh

yes .. more likely than not !!

You bet its not solving the issue on hand but almost making people share the responsibility of their safety when the issue is the crime ...
