A friend of mine and his GF are complete germaphobe/cleanfreaks. He is miserable but doesn't leave her because he doesn't think he'll find another girl like this.

So, I'm curious....

How do you date a clean freak/germaphobe???

Do you try to change them??? Do you go out of your way to accomodate them???

If you are a cleanfreak/germaphobe, how do you date people who are not??? Do you only date

other cleanfreak/germaphobes??? Or would you consider dating someone who wasn't???

I wouldn't even want to know a germaphobe, much less date one. I don't think a clean freak would want to date me either, not if he saw my house! sticking out tongue grin

No you can't change a germaphobe/cleanfreak. Like-minded people should stick together. I for one won't touch a bathroom door handle without a paper towel. Too many people don't wash properly after using the loo!

Would you ever consider dating someone who wasn't so careful?

They freak me out! uh oh!

If i go camping, we always share the water bottle, if I'm tasting some food with my friends, we'll pass the same spoon....if I go to the fruit market, I'll taste the fruits....

There are basic hygene standards but to be on constant fear...no way!

dunno

I always make sure my house is clean as far as normal things like swept, mopped, vaccuumed, dishes and clothes done... and maybe dust about once every two weeks. But hardly a germaphobe. and I would not try and change anything about anyone, and I will not allow someone to change me. and No I would not date onecheers

No amount of love in the world will make a messy person a neat one and vice versa.

I am a very organised and tidy person, I did recently a fling because the guy was untidy in all areas of his life.

It would have driven me mad.

That's called mysophobia and like any other phobia it rules the lives of those affected by it ...

I am particular about food hygiene, kitchen and bathroom I prefer clean, but not worried about a bit of dust or clean mess ...

I couldn't live with someone who has mysophobia OR someone who is a total slob!!! Somewhere in the middle is nice!!!

This friend of mine is soooo extreme....
Him and his girlfriend won't move in together because the thought of sharing a bathroom with each other is gross.D'oh!

He washes his hands so many times during the day his knuckles are cracked and bleeding....which is another problem because he passes out at the sight of blood!D'oh!

He has his truck and his girlfriends car, interior professionally shampooed every month.

I think he's hopeless

hmmm I'm not sure I'd have too much of a problem with that... (dating a germaphobe and/or clean freak) ... I have a touch of the OCD / germ thing, myself - so I'd at least be able to relate, on some level.

...pass the hand sanitizer, please.
wink
