It's all about supply & demand. Seems like people are just refusing to slow down, not go so much. As long as no one wants to ease up on consumption, the price will continue to rise.

Unfortuneatly your right, but we're trying to ease up a little here... maybe elsewhere to... Might be later, or might take another price increase but hopfully it can be done... I'm still all for writing the president,lOL;)

If you don't like paying so much for gas, learn to drive less. Get out and bike or walk places instead of being another fat, lazy, self-centered person. Sure, a big enough boycott might hurt someone - the gas stations. They don't control the prices though, so you're lashing out at innocents. If you think your efforts will impact the gas suppliers, whose supply is less than current demand, you're completely wrong, precisely because demand is so much greater worldwide than they can supply. They'll just turn and sell to other buyers who are wiling, and used to payng the higher amounts. We've been spoiled for years by undervalued oil because our nation was the dominant consumer and could negotiate the prices down. We aren't anymore, nor are we in particularly good graces in the world's market, so you will either have to get used to paying the same price for gas as the rest of the world, or else you'll have to invest in some alternate fuel or form of transportation. The best you can hope to accomplish with your petty boycott is to hurt a few local businessmen, who are probably nice people in your community. Is that the difference you want to make?

if the goverment wouldnt be so spoiled by getting kick backs from oil companies then we could make a differce if we show them we are tired of paying high prices then maybe they will get the message

Gas prices have dropped in my area, however, it is still high.

I find myself conserving more than ever. Cutting down on trips and making appointments on same days.

Do not know what will happen if we get stuck this hurricane season.

Yeah, prices have went down about 5 cents here to... but that's not far enough... they're still making a killing, I'd be happy to see 2.00 !!!

I remember they did the same with diamonds (Supply and demand). Seems they sorta control how many are available and control price.

the boycott thing...thumbs up

there is talk of isolating the major petroleum stations only. boycott only there locations ovber a longer period of time.

It would be great if as a community we all could do something postive in unison... the thought alone many crying out in one voice...

cannot think of the last time a postive action like that happened.

Yeah I'll Boycott

Ladies and gents of the North American continent!

I have a question for you. How much do you pay for your fuel?

A quick run around Europe with prices. (All prices got from Yahoo Cash converter)
All prices are in sterling and then euros and then US $
Switzerland £0.73 - E1.06 - $1.36
Germany/France £0.92 - E1.35 - $1.72
UK £0.95 - E1.38 - $1.82
Greece £0.68 - E1.00 - $1.27

This is for 1 litre.

One gallon is about 5 litres.
so in Switzerland, I would pay $6.50-$6.80 for a gallon
In the UK, I would pay $8.50 ish

However the whole world runs on gasoline. There is no way people can afford to give it up.

These sort of ideas get no where, as I couldnt give up buying gasoline, and the majority of people I know couldnt do it either.

Ahh but to focus on one major oil company, they claim to be independent of one another, yet if one's price goes up they all go up why??? So if ones price goes down????? supply and demand we ain't buying Exxon for a month, what would happen??

As for these ideas getting us nowhere the same was said to edison, franklin and DaVinci, but we are not a single entitiy we are many.

1 gallon equals 3.78 litres.

I think human nature requires most to get in their car and have to drive somewhere knowing well and good they really didn’t need to make the trip after all. I for one will drive hardly at all… if I drive at all. I enjoy just staying around the home working on my yard, laying out by my pool or visiting friends just a few doors down. Other than making one trip to the grocery store a week and taking my son to his friends, movie , etc, I really don’t drive at all other than work. Teens are the worst offenders of us all. I see teens in my neighborhood pass my house at least 10 times a day. They get in the car and do nothing but drive. I especially like to watch people on the highway with those big gas guzzlers going at least 10 to 15 mph over the seed limit increasing their consumption of gas.
I read an article on one of the routers sites where they had conveyed the results of a census that was taken. The census was whether people would make a change in their driving and do there part to conserve gas by reducing the type a vehicle they drove to a more economical vehicle? Well, most people replied yes as long they didn’t sacrifice performance. Now correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t performance proportional to gas consumption? The only way a boycott would work is if everyone would just pick a weekend and not drive unless they have to work or something more important…..
But if people did stop driving for 1 to 2 weekends a month we could have another baby boomer era…..LOL! Which means more people! More cars! And More gas consumption!
