Very few better ways to better communicate that you are unimpressed by another person,

than not bothering to look at them.

Many people feel that not making eye contact is a sign of being intimidated,

I was pointing out that the absence of eye contact can also communicate

that you are unimpressed by a person, or their actions.

Absolutely. But, it is rare for me to have too much of an absence of eye contact... depends.

I'm huge on eye contact & I make lots of it, as it is extremely important to me.

Gotta have it.

They say if you dont look in the eye your hiding something,,I dont like looking in the eyes at times because I'm thinking of what they are saying...I dont think the cops would let a person go free if they have blood on their hands and look them in the eye and say they didnt do it...

As a child I learned all to well all about using eye contact.

When I misbehaved as my punishment my father would take two chairs and place them across from each other and he'd sit in one and I'd have to sit in the other.

I would have to stare directly at him and if I dare looked away he would make me sit and stare at him even that much longer.

The funny thing was he never spoke to me the whole time and of course I'd break out crying. That was worse then a spanking cause I didn't like my dad being mad at me.

So yes I'm used to useing eye contact when I'm having a discussion with someone.

Oh yes, it is a very useful way of communicating.
To stare someone down, or to ignore as you say.
