I wrote this poem in memory of my departed Coffee Maker.

Thanks for reading; Tom Diamond

Thunder Over Texas

Diamond ! Get outta da' bed !
Brain feels like led.
Lying sleepy instead ,
darlin' curled , breathing softly next to my head,
Coffee Maker lies silent an' dead.

Crawl from the spread,
tossed back on the bed.
Thunder over Texas!
Head feels like led,
toilet caved in last Spring.
Need some Caffeine !
Coffee Maker lies silent an' dead.

Slip on my shorts,
T-shirt-n- boots.
Needing Caffeine.
No thunder over Texas
since last Spring.

Tangled hair all over my head.
Thunder in Texas!
Diamond, go back to bed,
Your Coffee Maker lies silent an' dead.

Crawl to the kitchen,
down the creaky ol' hall.
bumping my head,
Coffee Maker lies silent an' dead.

Flip on the light.
Kitchen's a fright.
Drank all night ,
with my darlin', Jana an' Fred.
Coffee Maker lies silent an' dead.

Check the filter.
Push the red button,
lean back on the sink.
I need me a drink!
Thunder over Texas!
Ohhh, my poor head.
Coffee Maker lies silent an' dead.

Thunder crashes inside of my head.
Brain dead.
Radio playing, waltz across Texas with me in your arms,
Rain bangs all over the roof,
Thunder over Texas,
wakes up the dead!
Where Diamond drank with his darlin', Jana an' Fred.
Coffee Maker lies silent an' dead.

Plug the thing in ,
the thought just arose,
while rubbing my nose.
Thunder over Texas!
Head feels just like led.
Drank all night with my darlin', Jana an' Fred,
where my Coffee Maker lies silent an' dead.

Crawl back down the hall.
Fall back in bed.
I drank all night with my darlin, Jana an' Fred.
While Coffee Maker lay silent an' dead.

Kindest Regards,
