ttom500: Just so I am not wordy, you mean the you would prefer Sadam Hussien, his family and the Bathe Party to still be in power in Iraq? And you would prefer Mohammed Omat and the Taliban to be power in
Afghanistan?

I got, you prefer..... more deathes in these countries....becase under Sadam.....they were averaging 3000 per month there.....today less than a 1000. And in Afghanistan they were executing adulteress under soccer goal post.

This is not the issue, the issue with your question is why sadly insane was in power.

If you trace his political history you will see how it is conjoined with US/UK foreign policy and thus in the after event hypocrisy.

In the Taliban event i refer you to the same behaviour for ten years they were OK, but then the deal with Unocal and the pipeline fell out of bed.....

Both regimes were bad always, however in terms of our excuse to bomb the shit out of the good people of those nations.............

Appologies Simiain, now I see the truth in your spelling and understand you sentiments of course! You really think Swiss beer is good! Our Sleemans beer 'Honey" brew is the best in the world!!

In 1834, Sleeman Brewery was established in Ontario, where it flourished for more than a century. But by the 1930s, says Dan Fox, the company’s vice-president of business development, " like a lot of industrious Canadians, the Sleeman family was making an extra buck by shipping to Al Capone during Prohibition. " Sounds like a great idea. But apparently the correct palms were not greased, and Sleeman got caught. The brewery was given two options by authorities on both sides of the border: admit guilt, pay a fine, and close down, or do all of the above and go to jail.

They reopened a number of years back and every one loves the stuff!! Even big AL loved it!!

Would you call the German people good prior to Hitler becoming Chancellor? Or the Japanese people being good before a group of
militaristic generals and a weak ruling Emporer came to power?
Because we both know eventually what they become under those
leadership groups.

Sadam Hussein gained power, if you read any of the many bio on him.....because the Bathist party first let him be a thug for them, and then when he became close to power, he coup the leader of Iraq and with a assignation. That is how he got to power. Did the Iraqi people have very much choice in that? Or according to your theory of events here....did the US/UK then or later on?

As for the Taliban. They were basically a hogpog croup of Afhani that had been displaced by the Russian/Afhan war. They had connection with bin Laden and the 911 Brigade of that war. When the Russians
withdrew the Taliban saw the void in power, and forced the Afghani
then to become the Northern Alliance out of Kabul and power. That is how they gained power.

See I don't make the connection. That because the US/UK don't immediately respond to a evil man or a evil group coming into power
with some kind of covert plot to undermine them or a mil operation to
remove them. That it is 'our fault'. If one use that rule of thumb, we would be looking to take down 1/4 of the worlds governments, maybe more.

I think that you have to pick your fights. In the 10 years that Sadam was in power....he invaded a country....he was killing 3000 Iraqi monthly....he was funding suciede bombers in Isreal....he had bin Laden speaking for him as a mouth piece to the Moslem world regarding killing westerns....he ran a oil for weapons program.....
the list is long. Yes? Which one in the tipping stone? Maybe trying to have a former US President assignated.

And as for the Taliban. After 9/11 anyone that got close to AlQeada and bin Laden was going to be on our to do list.

During the 10 years prior to all this. We were not putting a cross hair of an optical on these guys close enough. But eventually would you not have it change?

One can say that there are alot of innoconet Iraqi caught in the middle of some very bad stuff in the recent past and now. And I totally agree. But those same innocent Iraqi were going to be caught in the middle of some very bad Sadam Hussien and family stuff as well. His sons neighter which was a angel.....the protons of putting Odi and Uli on the same line with the word angel....want to jumb off of the screen....were going to come to rule that country for the next several generations. The only real hope the Iraqi people had was a removal on them.jmo

1954 CIA and British SIS overthrow the democratically elected prime minister of Iran Premier Mossadeq, on account of his nations decision that in the post colonial world Iran should control the mineral wealth within it's borders

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaGCJmCAJ40

The collapse of the democratic process allowed The Shah (king) to assume full dictatorial powers and he was a tyrant "our Tyrant" but a tyrant none the less. the Shah then sells heavily discounted oil to the US and Britain in return for weapons credits including 4 divisions of Chieftain tanks equipped with "Chobham" spaced armour. which at that time, before the development of Depleted Uranium rounds was completely impregnable. The Tanks were delivered in 1976. Just in time for the 1979 popular islamic revolution January 16 - February 11 1979. The only thing that could stop those tanks from rolling through Iraq and into Israel was the israeli nuclear bomb which they would have dropped on the tanks in the iraqi dessert /oil fields

On July 16th 1979 Saddam Hussein ousts the president of Iraq and assumes power. He then very quickly starts a mindless border war with Iran and over the next years heavilly supplied by Nato he is able to wear down the persian millitary machine (Built up by Nato when Iran was ruled by "Our Tyrant" the Shah

CAN YOU SEE A PATTERN EMERGING.

Bin Ladin CIA asset conduit for funds to the afghani "freedom fighters" when they were trying to get the russians out of their country. Those same people are now called insurgents IRONIC HUH.

Germany ....... Hitler was funded into power by a small group of powerful German industrialists like Fritz Thyssen i bring up this man in particular because

Prescott Bush and George Herbert (Bert) Walker were directors of the London-affiliated New York banking house of Brown Brothers-Harriman

In 1919, George Herbert Walker had organized W.A. Harriman & Co which merged with the British Brown Brothers in 1931. In 1924, Averell Harriman and Fritz Thyssen, the German industrialist who began funding Hitler in 1923, set up the Union Banking Corp in New York to handle funds supplied to it through Thyssen's Dutch bank for American investment.

In 1942 Under the Trading with the Enemy Act, the government took over the Union Banking Corporation finding that Thyssen's operation was supplying most of the plate steel and explosives of the Nazi war Machine.

Do I blame the German people for electing Mr Hitler?

simiain dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland UK
There is a common thread to all of this a little story that gives bankers brown trousers. a tale of a German Jewish man living in london who writes this book that gets all the bankers in Russia SHOT, and they don't want it to happen to them.

Hitler was a rabid anti communist. 'He was supposed to go East but he decided to go West first.

WW1 did the German people make that decision, no that decision was made by Queen Victoria's Grandson.

(I am about to speculate so this section is separated from the rest. I believe that was all about communism too. If there are a bunch of people who want to kick my head in, if i can find a way to set them on each other, after they have finished knocking lumps out of each other they will be too tired to come after me.

Now if you have just seen a book written by a German man in london setting light to eastern europe which resulted in your cousins' getting herded into a room and shot - (Mrs Romanov was Victoria's granddaughter) - Would you not start worrying that it might be your turn next?

The Japanese were a feudal society who didn't know how to say NO.

So to return to your question were the Japanese or german people bad before WW2 No they were not, they were not bad during and since have been very grateful to work hard and be peaceful.

Did powerful US and UK agencies have links with the rise to power of ALL of the people on your list, according to the historical record, yes they did

Dubai, one of the seven emirates of the Federation of the United Arab Emirates, North-East of Abi-Dhabi. This city, population 350,000, was the backdrop of a secret meeting between Osama bin Laden and the local CIA agent in July. A partner of the administration of the American Hospital in Dubai claims that public enemy number one stayed at this hospital between the 4th and 14th of July.

Having taken off from the Quetta airport in Pakistan, bin Laden was transferred to the hospital upon his arrival at Dubai airport. He was accompanied by his personal physician and faithful lieutenant, who could be Ayman al-Zawahari--but on this sources are not entirely certain--, four bodyguards, as well as a male Algerian nurse, and admitted to the American Hospital, a glass and marble building situated between the Al-Garhoud and Al-Maktoum bridges.

Did i say ALL the people on your list?...................

ttom500 St. Cloud, Florida USA
Yep I got it, the world has been a single mass conspriracy since WWII, of undocumented meetings, hidden agendas, and the UK/US governments placing less than ethnic people into power in foreign governments around the world. So that eventually, US/UK could invade Iraq....60 years after WWII....to control the world oil supplies.

No the meetings have been documented and our governments continue to fess up to the operations generally about 25 years after the fact

Bay of Tonkin anyone.

It is all documented and is available if you can be bothered to dig it up.

Do you remember the anthrax attacks blamed on Al Qaeda or Iraq, remember the impassioned speech by Colin Powell at the UN how he held up a little bottle of the stuff and explained

Second, when Iraq finally admitted having these weapons in 1995, the quantities were vast. Less than a teaspoon of dry anthrax, a little bit about this amount -- this is just about the amount of a teaspoon -- less than a teaspoon full of dry anthrax in an envelope shutdown the United States Senate in the fall of 2001. This forced several hundred people to undergo emergency medical treatment and killed two postal workers just from an amount just about this quantity that was inside of an envelope.

. It now after the fact turns out to be the work of a US citizen, a lone "Unabomber" who commits suicide before he can be cross examined in a public court

Are you suggesting that the US/UK governments do not lie do not engage with black flag operations and have not sought, to control and secure energy supplies?

I am going to show you how a large majority of consriracy theories begin.

Take the anathrax attacks for instance. What is both within and outside of government.....speculation begins to whom might be done it.
The investigators have may possible leads pointing in many different directions. Media that is following the story.....adds more to the group or prospects. And individuals.....not mentioning names......add even more as the sit in a pub or bar some place.

Then clever fellows like yourself......when the real culprit is found as was this anthrax scienctist that commited suciede......dig them all up and blog on them. Why? Well to you if fits this inner thoery that all is a conspriracy and all are consprirators. Like I said earlier.....have a anohter...beer

All the world is an "Oil Mad Economy" my friend...including Scotland. Without it: there is *no* economy! There is *no* substitute, there are no *alternatives*...nothing that will equal the cost effectiveness or ease of production to be found with it. And it isn't just about cars...just about EVERYTHING you touch, throughout any given day, is brought to you from OIL! The keyboard you use for your boring rants is made with petroleum!

Oil is the engine of democracy. Get used to it...nothing new here... professor

Is oil the engine of democracy? Since when?

Saudi, Iran, Iraq, Russia, Azerbajdzjan… you name it.

Oil is fuel for the engine. Period.

The engine for democracy is thinking people, “boring ranters” included.

simiain: SNIP senseless rant

I got news for ya: Rendition was used more often by president Clinton then it was by Bush! What does "rendition" mean? It means "Hand Over"!! As in Hand Over the fu**ing terrorists! I'm all for it, thank you!

And your notion of the U.S./Bush/Blair committing "war crimes" is pretty ridiculous. Wasn't 9/11 a "war crime"? 3000 innocent civilians dead is not a "war crime"? Grow up...just more typical, snotty, anti-U.S./Brit liberal ranting from the left...If any of it were true: people would be in jail...hasn't happened: ain't ever going to happen.

It wasn't about the "desire" to invade...Even Clinton (I'm sure you just idolize him, don't ya)? stated as far back as 98 that Saddam was on his way to Nukes/WMD's and had to go! You have a selective memory? Or that just doesn't fit your crazy idea of how things are? Take the tin-foil hat off....

So Bush appointed Dick Cheney Energy Czar...big deal!? Every sitting president appoints people he trusts to trusted positions...nothing new here...Even Clinton did it!

So the war is about oil? Then where is the oil? Why is the price so high? Why aren't we importing all this oil from Iraq? Why aren't Bush' cronies in there pumping it outta the ground? Ummm because it ain't about oil...its about FREEDOM! And some more news for ya: its WORKING!

That's what the left *really* cannot stand...That Bush was right in taking the fight to the enemy, so they are too busy to bring it back here, ala 9/11!!

Not for nothing Simian, my boots were on the ground and I really don't even like thinking about the crap I saw over there...like the shop owner who was killed because he had the temerity to procure an ICE MACHINE to sell cold drinks...the reason? "If Allah wanted you to have ice: there would be ice already"!!! Something as stupid as that...

Women murdered for working with, or even gazing too long, at an infidel (American soldier).

Those countries would be 3rd world shit holes without American tech from 50 years ago, to help them bring oil out of the ground...to me, they are shit holes *with* oil....

And even if it *were* about oil: I'm all for it. Real wars, BIG wars....nasty a** wars are on the horizon...and it WILL be all about oil...so if someone is going to kick a** and take oil....I'd rather it be us....
