I took a woman fishing up in Pigeon lake, Buckhorn area in Ontario.
We were out for muskies and while we were trolling we popped open a bottle of wine from the cooler! It was pretty warm out and no action so we opened another but spilled half of it! Spent the whole afternoon gaming (nautical term for talk)! We finally started back to the cabin and on the way thought we start a bottle of CC and finish it later in the evening. we pulled up to the end of the dock about 20 ft from shore and I cut the motor and asked her to grab the dock! She grabbed the dock with her left hand and had the CC in her right hand, The boat started drifting away from the dock and she started to stretch out to hold on! Pretty soon her hand was on the dock and only her feet in the boat, she looked like a taught violin string and still held on to the Canadian Club, I started giggling and moving up the boat to help! Her feet gave way and she fell in and went under water but the bottle didn't, she held it high and dry!! She must have walked submerged for four or five feet with only the bottle showing and stuck her head out of the water with the bottle still high in the air and asked if she wasted any! I think she would have drowned before she let that CC go under!! I don't think I'll take her hunting~~~
You ever hear the phrase "Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey!"
Actually the old frigate used to store their cannon balls on brass rails called monkeys and when it got cold the rails would shrink and the balls would fall off! Just some nautical trivia ... being an old sailor!
