Skybow: That old horse has been beaten almost to death and was taken out of context, what she actually said was:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,331288,00.html

Speaking in Milwaukee, Wis., on Monday, she said, “People in this country are ready for change and hungry for a different kind of politics and … for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”

Greeted with rousing applause after making the comment in Milwaukee, Obama delivered an amended version of the speech later that day in Madison, Wis.

“For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country … not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change,” she said. “I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment.”

Lots of stuff can get twisted around and does, especially in elections. It's just more smoke and mirrors, so you gotta like magic shows to really appreciate this kind of politics.

I don't believe that is what she meant...and a lot of others feel the same. At any rate, even if that *were* true, she finds *nothing* else of our beautiful country to be proud of?

I, personally, don't know anyone who is feeling "frustration" or "disappointment" in how our country is moving...we are certainly not "desperate" for change...

Besides, every time she speaks she gives more cannon fodder for the right to poke fun at...Barak really should insist she stay home...laugh

Woadan: Sigh I've read her papers and she hates this country and lord knows he's no fan of it. I'm sorry but if a person can't even respect our flag, they should not only NOT be our president but should be deported.

Many many men and women have died to keep that bit of cloth flying and anyone who hates it....well...

What he said....professor

So let me get this right: The Senator from Illinois is a secret Muslim, has a name suspiciously like Osama, doesn't love America and takes every opportunity to show it, has a wife who thinks America has not yet reached perfection and might have a way to go on that road yet, etc etc. He is probably in favour of taxes for paying for Government, pro-worker rights, pro-abortion, pro-women, anti-Gun and worst of all there is a suspicion he might be black.

I think you are entirely right. How did it come to pass that people like that were even allowed to run for office? They should be run out of town on a rail!

So vote McCain - He's rich, he's white, he's fought in a war - he's one of us! (except for the rich bit of course laugh )

Gosh politics is really simple when you get down to it! barf

Nearly every speech I've heard thus far reflects on the point of how hard they, or their parents worked to achieve their goals. So why are Dems wanting to steal from one person and give it to someone else, if hard work does help one to achieve life's goals? confused That makes no sense~ dunno

Rowdy_Roddy: Holy hamster tits!!! This is the most ridiculus bullhonkery I've ever heard!! I have no respect whatsoever for Obama, but what is worse is people that idolize him based on the complete bull puckey that he lets out of his pie-hole!! He is a know-nothing twit who blabbers on about 'change' but doesn't know what he wants to change, or how to do it. He doesn't support the people that FIGHT FOR HIS FREEDOM TO RUN FOR OFFICE!! The American soldier should be the most respected proffesion in that it is their VOLUNTARY sacrifice that enables all others to choose what they want to pursue.

I'm not a big fan of McCain, due to his opinions on some issues, but at least he has the basics down. People like this inappropriately named "hot single dude" just believe everything they hear from the extremely biased media, and have no idea about the big picture, life experience, common sense, and such. I know I'll get some flak for bringing up life experience, being as I'm only 19, but I understand what's going on, and I'm not afraid to voice my opinion. Why should I be afraid to voice my opinion? My opinion is that McCain is an older guy with good intentions, but needs some enlightening on certain issues - Obama is a retard who breathes lies and pulls bull**** promises out of his a**, kind of like Al Gore, who created the internet, and stopped global warming....

BTW, does anyone really care about global warming, or saving the environment (besides the tards in California)? I mean, there are way more important issues right now than recycling, and eating soy beans... omg what has happened here?
Are you talking about STUPER-OWL,with the smallest Carbon Foot Print in the History of Mankind?rolling on the floor laughing

The devil is in the details my friend...the little things. They are very telling about a person. And no one is saying McPain is any better...all politicians are scum...picking the right one to vote for is like walking through a mine field...

But...the devil you *know* is better then the devil you *don't*!

But there you are wrong my friend. All politicians are not scum. Some are. Most aren't. Like ordinary people. It is lazy thinking to generalise like that. It means we always have an excuse, someone to blame....oh the politicians, it is all their fault.

They are OUR politicians, elected by us and reflecting our values. If not, why did we vote for them. I'm sure this is as true in the US as everywhere else. That's the problem with democracy....you get what you deserve.

The devil you know argument means you always vote for the Government. Fine, but then you can't whinge about how things have all turned to shit. You voted for that!!!

dunno

Indy it's not supposed to make sense. You should know they could care less about us.

I've often wondered where and what would happened if all of us who pay more then our fair share of taxes just all of us stopped paying them.

I think they've all gotten a free ride long enough. I think it's aboout time they begin putting our money where their mouths are but... I know in my heart that'll never happen.

All elections are like that I suppose.

Especially if like a lot of people who contribute to these forums you don't seem to believe in Government at all. I don't know what the alternative is?...all off to the woods with our shotguns to shoot at anybody who comes near?

There is also a view in a lot of contributions that WE pay high taxes to be wasted by THEM. Who is THEM? They are the guys you and I elect. They are mostly middle aged middle class white men. Not all these threatening others that people go on about here.

Also, I don't think the US is a particularly heavily taxed society. And such taxes as there are - a lot of it goes to pay for a war machine that you seem to think the rest of us should spend more on.

We get what we deserve.

dunno

I will. I don't know Ruby Ridge but I remember a bit about Waco. Seemed like a complete fiasco but then the Branch Dravidians contributed to that too. Tax compliance was hardly the issue though was it?

Actually you are wrong: and overly idealistic as well. All politicians are scum...at least here in the U.S. They go into gov't because they can't do anything else OR they simply want power over other people...professional bureaucrats....usually lawyers.

As far as I'm concerned: they are not *my* politicians...I keep a close eye on the political spectrum, but haven't voted since Perot...people who vote get what they deserve: people who don't: maintain bitching rights!

So: I maintain, fully, my right to bitch about how things have turned to sh*t! See how it works....?

Actually, I vote my conscience...I (would) vote for the candidate who, I feel, represents what we need in this country...no one fits the bill so: I don't bother...

And yes: I just *know* what your going to say next....lol

Sad but true: the powers that be pick the 2 candidates...and we get to choose one of those 2....2 sides of the same coin....its all just about power...2 puppets wielded by the same master is not *choice*...in the end, the sheeple get screwed...always have...always will...very mad
