I must stress, that I have put my points across for my own children and how I have disciplined them, without a spanking.
Having thought about this many times, I have not had to discipline them much, not because they are perfect, but because they just never needed it.
Had they, then that may have raised different emotions in me.
I have learnt that however, there is a difference between a spanking and the beating of a child.
I can only go off my own experience as a parent and that as a teacher, in that I would not admonish my children in that way, nor am I allowed to admonish the ones in my care that way.
Just for the record, I would never state that any parent who chooses to spank their children are child abusers. That would be foolish.
I do still stand by however, that it is ok, to smack a child and against the law to smack an adult.
ANd for the life in me, I cannot get my head to understand that.
