Adolf Hitler Has Returned To Berlin!

Hugz there is a difference between an accurate account and the one being given surly you are not proposing that Maggie was in the same league as Hitler are you ?? For a start there were not 6 million Jews to kill in northern Ireland ,ps
Victims have been known to give extremely exaggerated accounts of events

crot... I agree that no one, not even Maggie, brought as much desolation and took as many lives as Adolf Hitler.

I want to ask everyone to voice your opinions, but please refrain from arguing. Each one here believes as he or she will believe. We do not need to try to convince one another that what we believe is the correct way of belief. There is no right or wrong answer here. Please stick to the topic. We are trying to consider the emotions of those who have to face this Hitler figure being in Berlin. How can we learn the effect it has if people are fighting over facts which are not the issue of this thread? I do not want to frighten anyone from posting their true feelings. Feel free to continue your arguments by email or start another thread on the topic.

Thanks so much, HLpeace

Hmmmmm nope sorry you are not

Crotalus strikes again!!! laugh

<<<<<<<<<<<< Gently reminds Crotalus that sometimes he himself makes statements that he does not back up with any more substantial "evidence" than "because I Know/say so" or words to that effect ...

Would it hurt you terribly to sometimes just let go of an argument graciously? Can you not "get" from Phoenix's posts that he has experienced stuff that makes him feel the way he expressed? Right or wrong is not the issue here ... The issue is the insentive way in which you are handling your argument with him ... I know you are more of a man than that conversing

We all agree that Hitler has his place in history.... rightly or wrongly we shouldn't forget what the f*cker did... lets hope his kind stay in the past..(doubt it though)

Could be worse Victoria Becham could be in the wax works for years to come....... now that scares me rolling on the floor laughing

I believe that many today are numbed down and may not feel this is important at all, or can not understand why anyone would be against Hitler being on display.
Take a minute and think about the older generation who saw their neighbors taken off to concentration camps, or perhaps they themselves lived in the camps.
I have watched documentaries of these people telling their stories. They tell it with tears, when you can even get them to talk about it.
It left many scars on their hearts and minds.
To these people, having Hitler on display brings back all of those memories, causes them hurt and pain. Hitler is despised and hated by them. To them, it is an exaltation, having him on display, which is much undeserved in their minds.
I can understand why someone would behead the wax figure. It is what Hitler and Nazism represents, which should be put to death!

True, we want to avoid the recurrence of what this regime did to the world and we need not forget. But let us have compassion on those who have suffered and respect their want of not having Hitler exalted.
Until you have walked in their shoes and lived their experience, you have no way of knowing what they will re-live, over and over again, with a constant reminder... the wax figure of Adolf Hitler.

Is the statue of Hiter at the museum exalting him or portraying him as an historical figure? Of course he shouldn't be exalted but there is great danger in his being forgotten. Most of the generation who lived through that period as adults are dead and I think much of the pain is numbed since then. My grandparents' families were all killed in the Holocaust-all 4 of their families so this is not something long ago and far away for me. If the statue makes people uncomfortable, all the better.

hmm i think some may see it as an insult to have him in the museum ( i respect their feelinfs as the pain is known better to the ones who have suffered )

While another way to look at things is , anybody who has been significant in history is remembered . Either for the good or bad hence his presence as yet another significant person from history.

Exactly! Thanks Riya for your BALANCED opinion!!!!applause

Once again I find mysdelf reading healthy living's rants til i can't stand it anymore. The inaccuracies and conclusions are so out of step with reality. First, Hitler was NOTchosen by a party and was the instrument of behind the scenes "handlers". Hitler WAS the party. Obviously healthy you have no idea about a book called "Mein Kampf" written by Hitler while incarcerated in Landsberg Prison in Southern Germany. Hitler created the National Socialist Party, chose his followers, developed the plan to take over the existing German government (we'll omit the reasons and social pressures Hitler felt at the time). He pressured the existing Weimar Republic leaders, threatened them, killed dissenters within his own party to include his "inner circle" and ,in short , "bought" the election that carried him into power. Not the work of a moron but a conniving, midguided and mentally unbalanced zealot. He was finally brought to a fiery grave near the very parliament building he so cleverly took over by a world effort. Germany was again free. The rest is history. Yes, his influence remains in Germany today in the form of the "skinheads" and if you've ever seen how the German police react to them you'll retract your statement that this group is strong enough to make serious challenges to the German nation of today or any nation for that matter. As you can see healthy from the responses the majority of your critics here in this thread reside in Europe and its environs. Their forebearers bore the brunt of the Hitler massacres and it's to them that I look for solutions. I lived in Europe for 13 years, have very close contacts with many Germans today (some are "family")and am the great grandson of a German family forced from Germany by the eforts of Bismarck as he "rearranged" Germany to build an Empire. My grandfather called him a "benevolent dictator" but his father called him something quite different. so healthy unless you are actually on the field playing the game, to put this in athletic context, kindly remain quietly in your seat and let those players affected by the game's outcome make the decisions.

Excuse me, but I am not ranting at all. I have a copy of mein kampf and have read most of it. I have done indepth study of Hitler. He was envolved way before he wrote mein kampf. Perhaps you should expand your research concerning his life way before that time in history.

Furthermore, I do not need you to come to my thread and tell me to remain quietly in my seat. My family was envolved too as I stated at the begining of the thread. There are no decisions to be made here and no reason for anyone attacking anyone here. I want to know the feelings of those who are effected by the wax figure of Hitler in Berlin.

Healthy Living...This is a free forum sponsored by CS.. You don't own anything here least of all the thoughts and expressions of anyone who posts here. You bring up a thread about the impact of a chunk of wax that represents, arguably, the most despicable subhuman ever born on this planet and you expect everyone who reads your rant to be nice about it. What do you want all of us to do?..submit our posts prior to publication for your approval. I think NOT. No, healthy, you don't try to orchestrate this thread or any thread here on CS as a third grade teacher manages a group of 8 year old students. You post it, you live with the responses and as the old saying goes, "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen".
