Here in Ohio a day after coming ashore in Texas, the remnants of Hurricane Ike will be paying the Tri-State (Northeast Ohio)a visit today.

I just read the online weather report and it stated that what's now Tropical Depression Ike will meet an oncoming cold front over the Mississippi River, and the whole conglomerate will be pushing into the Tri-State by this afternoon and evening.

Also that the system will bring strong winds. A wind advisory is in effect for the entire region.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Tri-State( Northeast Ohio) under a slight risk for severe weather.

The National Weather Service said that there is a potential for rotating supercell storms, high winds and isolated tornadoes. A watch may be issued by afternoon as conditions become more focused.

Last update, half hour ago, from Weather Underground:

Posted by: JeffMasters, 11:31 AM EDT on September 14, 2008

The National Hurricane Center has issued its last advisory on Tropical Depression Ike, which is now accelerating northeastward through Illinois. Ike is causing only modest trouble, dumping 2-5 inches of rain along its path and triggering scattered severe thunderstorms. Ike has generated just five tornadoes so far. Two small tornadoes affected Arkansas yesterday, and three were reported in Louisiana on Friday. The Storm Prediction Center has placed portions of Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio at slight risk today of receiving tornadoes as Ike speeds by.

Thank you dear. As I said I can handle the storms but hate the wind. So news of possible tornadoes is a bit frightening. A very dear friend lost his wife to the last F5 that rolled through the area.
