Oh, I agree. Our lines *are* stretched too thin now...not much different then the Roman empire, way back when.....and we *know* what happened to them eh?
How can anyone say we don't fight wars on our own front right here in the good old USA? Any one who has now, or ever has had a wife or lady friend that he wakes up next to can attest to that!!!professor YES! I do believe we are stretched too thin there. More attention needs to be made here at home, where it will no doubt be more appreciated anyway.

So I've decided to take it upon myself to join everyone's little arguement. While I consider myself to be a Libertarian (which I believe 80% of the country currently is, by the way), and I'd rather vote for Ron Paul than EITHER candidate anyday of the week, I admit that I lean to the right on some of the more economical issues (and at the same time, don't care about social issues, but thats a different matter). I really think we all need to have a bit of a economics lesson. Much of what Senator Obama is arguing in this election is known as Socialism. For instance, universal healthcare; a more direct handling of taxes and government inclusion or "helping" of our crashing market (which by the way reallllllllllllllllllly started to crash once we elected a congress that does nothing but vote against the policy of the president that everyone hates) are all forms of socialism, and its growing at a disturbing rate. Firstly, Universal Healthcare, will TAKE AWAY our right to choose a health care plan. It will TAKE AWAY the right of our medical professionals to continue to be the best in the world. It will TAKE AWAY the right for our insurance companies to choose to business with an individual, based on their employment history and current income. Likewise, this "enormous" number of families without healthcare plans is bloated by the "enormous" amount of immigrant families within the united states. Think about it, none of them can get health care, and think about how many there are, when it comes down to it, only about 2% of actual american families can't get adequate healthcare. Secondly, taxes, Mr Obama wants to cut the taxes of 95% of Americans, while raising the taxes of the top 5% of the rest of the country. Which haha, is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Especially with what he plans on doing with the rest of our budget. Prepare for hard times people, even if you do see an extra 200 bucks in your tax returns next year. Speaking of taxes, how about raising minimum wage? That sounds wonderful, right? Actually, by paying their employees more, most small businesses will be raising their prices, affecting the customer, IE, all of us. This is called inflation, something this country has plenty of. I'm tired of typing right now, but I'll be back for part two, which will likely be twice as long. Please don't try to flame me for my beliefs, they're dead on, and I'll embarrass you for saying otherwise.

Oh before I leave, John McCain might vote with the president (30% approval rating in the country) that everyone hates 90% of the time, but Barack Obama votes with Nancy Pelosi and the congress (11% approval rating) that everyone hates 97% of the time.

Keep that in mind.

They got hit by barbarians?

You know that when the Romans had conquered the world, it was the ONLY time there was complete peace on our planet. Pax Romana. Check it out sometime, chief. Despite minor rebel uprisings, there were NO wars, no bloodshed.

sorry cursor error!!!!!
So the doctors and hospitals should just keep getting richer at the expense of the poor that don't care have health care and are barely surviving now. I don't know the numbers but I'm absolutely certain that a high percentage of Americans that are not immigrants often have to choose between having dinner that day or putting gas in their car or pay their medical bills. Do you have any idea how many Americans are already in that situation. Universal health care wouldn't affect affluent people, they could still afford private medicine.
Any idea of how many children and elderly can't get the medical care and medications they need? I'm not jumping on the obama band wagon here I just thing health care is necessay for all. Rich or poor. I had a catastrophic health incident 1 year ago and it out me in bebt for the rest of my life. Before that my total debt was only around $3,000.
Now it is an astronomical figure!

Funny...I thought her statements were perfectly well thought out...Her comments reflected an understanding of the real purpose of NATO: We stand together. If you attack one of us, you attack all of us. She understood that if Georgia were to become a member of NATO and Georgia was attacked, in this case by Russia, we would be treaty bound to come to her aid. Nothing scary or uninformed about that statement...

Well, let's see....until recently Georgia was part of the Soviet Union, or Russian empire if you prefer! Supposing Florida got notions of seceding and joining an alliance with Russia (or even Venezuela) to help surround and keep check on the US......how would you Palinites feel about that? Of course NATO members are bound to help each other. That is why bringing Georgia in is simply a provocation of Russia.....what is the point? Making the world a more dangerous place has been the hall mark of the Bush Administration. Why not break with that scary tradition?

D'oh!

Most of us *don't* need an economics lesson: We know socialism when we see it...but thank you for your assumption that we are stupid.

The "enormous number" of families without healthcare? The numbers are hyped, for effect! Most have none because the earner in the family *chooses*, either by omission or by commission, to either not work, or work in menial jobs that do not, traditionally, offer expensive benefit packages. Nothing is free in this world: healthcare least of all.

As for the illegals" fu*k 'em...they are *illegal*...criminal, by definition. Send them back to mexico: they are that governments problem.

95% of Americans don't pay anywhere near what the top 5% do in taxes...what good is a "cut"? Taking nothing from nothing and giving it to someone doesn't do anything but make NoBama feel good...

I agree with you: hard times are coming...most people will be blind sided by it...

Raise minimum wage? To what? From what? 5.05$/hr to what? 7.15$ an hour? 7.92$ an hour? What arbitrary figure do you propose? Why not 25$ an hour? Who chooses the figure?

And yes: employers will cut staff, raise prices and, if possible, move offshore to make it up...

One of *my* proposals: How bout a tax incentive to get a college degree, instead of a Hummer 2? Raise the skill levels of all Americans, to something more marketable...

I'd make 'em go to school at the business end of a shotgun, *IF* I were in charge...no more welfare, no more laying around on lazy asses while someone *else* foots the bill!

Please come back and embarrass me...I love a challenge...rolling on the floor laughing
