THAT is the only way to start anything. You may then gradually, build up level of trust, a LEVEL of trust, but it should take time and patience.

Never ever jump into any kind of a relationship all trusting, let the other person EARN IT! You are worth it.

It's never easy to trust again when you've been burned. However, trust is an essential part of a good relationship. Sometime you've got to trust someone again...or live out the rest of your life alone. Learn a valuable lesson from what happened, take your time to heal, then move forward with your life.

And believe me, I have been through things that have given me more reason to distrust than most people will ever experience, so this isn't said lightly. Yet I have learned to trust again because the new person is not that person who hurt me.

That MAY be true, if you are looking for a relationship. But I am not, so I have no reason to trust anyone. I believe everyone is out for themselves,(with few exceptions) and will do whatever it takes to come out on top. That includes relationships. I will probably die a lonely old man....but I won't die a lonely old fool

Even if not true, it is something I subscribe to.

I do not think you will die lonely at all Ship, too many people like you...

I do not believe that everyone is out for themselves, but there has to come a time when we have to take care of ourselves and that is what you are doing...

Nothing wrong in that at all...
