I entered this forum believing there would be a civilized group of World Cup enthusiast; unfortunately, you both quickly dispelled this idea.

When one has to use derogatory language like "garlic & olive oil-eating scum bags", it is not only disrespectful, but fully establishes one’s quality of character, and further indicates the doubts you both have that a big team like England could beat a little guy like Portugal.

I happen to be Portuguese and I guess a “garlic & olive oil-eating scum bag”. What bothers me most is that no one else on this forum has been disrespectful in their postings. It’s too bad that you felt the need to lower the standards.

I'm very sorry folks, I never really meant to hurt anybody's feelings . I got carried away by my emotions .Our defeat by Portugal was one hell of a sucker punch to my face .In fact I'm still reeling from that punch .I'm truly sorry for my choice of adjectives.I've got absolutely nothing against the Portuguese,afterall one of my favorite soccer icons happens to be the legendary Eusebio .

I never said we were gonna win de trophy ,but I did not expect our boys to be heading home after just four games.From the very first day of this tournament I made it very obvious that I would be putting my money on Brazil or England to lift the trophy and not on my country due to the absence of experienced players in our squad.
England has the skill,experience & muscle to go the mile .

Please God, may you be Portugese because the English arrogance will know no bounds if they win. I'm not surprised at a Dutchman wanting an English victory, after all they did once bequeath them that obnoxious King William of Orange, who in turn initiated the massacre of Glencoe. As an Englishman, I understand the Scottish idea of "anyone but England" and I find it funny. But at the end of the day, we all carry a British passport and it upsets me when two Brits start hacking at each other because of a difference in ideology. We have enough detractors abroad without kicking each other.

To get back on track.

I think that
1) Argentina will unfortunately beat Germany
2) France will unfortunately beat Ukraine
3) England will finally beat Portugal (on penalties)
4) Brazil should beat the Italians.

Then Brazil will beat England (Ronaldo scoring a stunning individual goal to give everyone the bird)
and France will unfortunately beat Argentina. (Choice of two evils here)

Then Brazil will make up for their 3-0 whooping in the last WM final
by stuffing the French.

My two penneth is, if it was the other way round and England was out and Scotland was still in, I would be cheering for Scotland.

But each to there own, but some like argument for argument sake, I can never see the point.
