agman: I am looking forward to the next debate. It is really very entertaining.

I agree with what Obama said a lot....

I agree.laugh

rwantin: Sorry to hear...something like this always gives me pause. Philisophically, I suppose, when my number is up, it's up. And I'd rather go doing something I love than living a life wishing...

I always wear FULL gear. I think I could probably step on an IED with my boots and get away with it.

Sorry - off-topic. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Hi Bob, how is your father doing? It has been awhile since I've talked with you. Are you back in Cal?wave cheers

I agree.

If we could just get them to do some hand to hand combat a little.
It would be more entertaining. Maybe, like pro wrestling. Who
cares who wins. laugh

They would likely do it by proxie fighters. Maybe somekind of high tech thing.....everytime one makes a good attack......the computer simulation...shows the virtual image of the other being knocked out.

yeh....I already know Palin is gonna lose....

I think the vp debate will be funny, and entertaining in the beginning, but I think I will start to feel sorry for the beating Palin is gonna get....I saw her interview with a news reporter, and she couldnt even answer the person's question... I honestly don't get it....I at first thought McCains VP pick was a practical joke on all of America, but something is telling me that someone actually thinks she can run this country.... That is really scary...knowing that she is a 72 year olds heartbeat away from being president if McCain wins....um....are people so racist, so traditional, so selfish, that they will really consider a vote for a Mccain/Palin ticket!!!!! What???? If I were going for mccain, i'd gather as many people all over the world, and beeeeeeeeeg that he picks someone else as his VP.....Palin????? Where did she come from.... I just don't get it....it all has to be a joke and a waste of america's time....I think they are just trying to see if we'd fall for it....

hey everyone, i know i've been away for a while....hope all is well.
anjel tempe, Arizona USA
ttom500: I liked it when the moderator.....told them to talk to each other.....and not play to the camera and audience.

That to a polician that is seeking voter support for the Presidency is like saying go slap up on the other guy do a three stooges on him......while the entire country watches. They hardly looked at each other during the debate.......thier campaign managers has warned them about getting video taped in the..."How dare you think that you should be President of the United States Look."

Obama actually did look at Mccain, mccain never really made any eye contact with obama...I watched the entire debate a few times...

And, Mccain lied a lot too...like people are dumb and will just listen to whatever he said and go with it...there were many times that he even lost the attention of his republicans....

rwantin: Most that are intellectually generous will try to find some middle ground.

I agree with a lot of the talking heads afterwards - no real winner. But it does galvanize my notion that McSame is just more of the same...

I agree, being able to concede some common ground is a strong and honest debate tactic... disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing is just weak and arrogant..

ttom500: Hang on Tinymac....the new ideas are coming from Sarah Palin....
she is one of the new and young Republicans.....there is where your new ideas will come from. All John has to do is shake his head yes.....as she puts them out there.

McCain keeps the old timers aligned.....anyone over 50 in age.
Palin is the draw for 30 to 50s and female. The youth vote they conceed to Obama......but now they clobber them on the over 30 vote.

3/4 of the countries vote is 30+. 51% is woman. The demographics for the REP to pull this out is good. Even though the Obama increased the
DEM base with the youth registrations. And if the split the DEM woman voters from Obama......watch out.....then they win by 10 points.

interesting point!

Just what exactly can she come up with thats so smart?

I dont see her any different o any other rep to be honest

If Biden comes with a number of those during the debate will have the factcheck computer system failing. We will see smoke from thier building......as it overheats......

Indyfella indianapolis, Indiana USA

I heard a commentator suggest that Palin answer the questions as short as possible...then say, "I concede the remainder of my time to Senator Biden."

That makes a lot of sense when you think about it...

" Roosevelt on tv"
" asking a guy in a wheel chair to stand up and take a bow"
"against clean coal technology"........which Obummer's for...

If you go to U-tube, there's hours of Joe Biden gaffs... He walks right into it. Just let him run the debate.

Now when you think about......(and with all due respect) isn't it odd that black people are for Obama by a 90/10 percentage.) What would we call that? dancing

Wish to know what I picked up on Obama's body language?

That when he is under attack......he places a thin smile on.

In that kind of debate....he cannot break the attack with an comment or a statement. He tried a couple of time, but McCain just kept to the
attack.

But he goes to this smile.

I am sitting here saying to myself.....I wonder how well that works in say a G-8 meeting or a NATO meeting or a face to with Putin and Medvedev. When he is hearing something that he does like or something that they are attacking on.

Sometimes you have to let your real emotions show. I am not saying to be a Kruchsev and bang on the table with your shoe. But am saying that you have interject yourself into the fight and debate. In the world of negotiations and the world of real diplomancy.....being a patsie and being so self controlled that you are forcing a smile to hide behind
does not work.

Foreign leaders like Putin and Medvedev will eat him alive when he put it on. It like a 'tell' in a card game , where you can read a player and his hand. It means you got him on the ropes when he puts the smile on. They will read the smile and know it is time to for the heart of the issue....and to win at the table.

That smile says you scoring points and his going to capulate......just like he did with McCain.....when says 'you are right, John.'

As one of the FOXX network commentators said....he better let Joe Biden do his foreign policy. Because he does not have the stuff to do it.

That is capulation.....giving up.jmo
