I don't foresee you getting banned for this in any form. It's much more calm than many other posts I've seen to this point :)

Thanks Prof hug

My big mouth being engaged before the brain thinks it through and calms down has gotten me in trouble many times so I tried to be as careful as possible... and still make my point! LOL

Anytime - my post was to address your being banned and wasn't evading your points. I think that all of my previous posts summarize my thoughts and dragging them all back out again will just flog the dead horse, for lack of a better analogy.

So,this is how everything on CS gets blown out of proportion...never said he was bad about not believing the same...just trying to get the man to express his beliefs. I don't care if he agrees with me or not, just stand up for WHATEVER it is you believe...JEEZ!! I guess he is just and inconsistent Atheist.
Not everything is about you...

I was talking about someone else's comments.

D'oh!

I don't apologize,I never called him a name...he said he was an Atheist..not me. I was just posting opinions just like everyone else on this thread. If your going to start a argumentative thread then expect arguments...The war in Iraq and Iran is affecting hundreds of thousands of lives...so don't be surprized if the subject gets a little personal. I am the one who was defending Dominoes in the other threads,so don't say I'm attacking the man. He has his beliefs and I respect them...if we all had the same views the CS Forum would be a pretty damn boring place to visit. If your on the net expect to be disagreed with. Like my mom said, "If you can't take the heat then get out of the kitchen."
Angel, I admire you for the apology, that shows a lot of class.

Iam, there is a big difference between arguments about facts, vs. dismissing someone else's opinions as "nonsense" just because you happen to not share their opinions. THAT is more of a personal attack.

May I respectfully suggest that you get off your defensive high horse and learn the difference...?

dunno

hmmm Don't know if I want to step into this thread or not.....confused
Well here goes....: I don't think we should nuke Iran because that is WRONG on soooo many levels however having said that I think they should be stopped. Obviously the UN as outgrown its usefulness as well. I mean rather than doing something productive to help the werld anymore they just sit back on their heels and go "hmmmmmmmm.... " and scratch their heads until the issue has been dealt with by some other nation. I don't think any nation, not even the USA should have Nukes....

The UN has long out-grown their usefulness, many of the permanent members are drug or gun-runners. We can't just let Iran sit and do what they want, they're too closely tied to North Korea, who's been doing testing of the ICBM. They had initially threatened South Korea with it, then threatened the U.S. when we warned them about the testing they planned to do. North Korea can reach out and touch the west coast of the U.S. with their current arsenal, and that's not something that makes me smile or invokes any sense of happiness on my behalf.

If we were to remove their nuke capabilities, I'd opt for a surgical airstrike as 90-95% of their control rods are underground from all data I'm capable of seeing, and fallout would be minimized save radiation leaks from the structural damage incurred. Nuking them would be a tad overkill in my eyes, unless they decided it'd be a wise idea to fire upon us with one.

We're capable of defending against a nuclear threat with quite a few of our current systems, and I'm sure that Skunkworks is working on something beta/prototype as we speak. They're the ones that the military goes to for anything that has to be failproof when it's crunch-time.

As for the nuke, I don't see a need for nukes to exist but I will not condone the U.S. scrapping nukes as long as a nuclear threat exists anywhere in this world at any given time. Too many countries that have had issues with in the past have it to be a realism, as much as one can hope for it.

Well..... I agree with the Prof. He just stated how I feel but with more detail and intelligence lol. And I can understand about you not wanting the USA to leave themselves bare aZZ by getting rid of their Nukes.. I understand that completely BUT there are countries that see that the USA, France, ect.. have Nukes and say "well why can't we have them, if you can then we can" I realize that there is no way for Nukes to be completely destroyed so that no nation has them but the thought is a nice one, a little ideal but nice, I think.

I see no real reason for them not to have nuclear power, or the nuke at this time. Odds of them all disappearing are null, so as long as they don't go firing them we're all good and they can waste a defense budget creating things that'll leak radiation if it makes them happy.

It's the hostile countries who are hell-bent on making the U.S. glow like a nightlight that I'm most concerned about, however I think we're capable of quite a defense regarding.

Canada falls under the U.S. blanket of protection - you have no worries there should there be a threat or something incoming. You forget that we have Alaska attached to you, which is a major source of oil. I'm not saying that's the reason for the blanket protection, but the U.S. does have interest in that region, as well as the exports Canada ships to us.

What ever happened to sovereignty? When did the US get to decide who gets to play with their own toys? Has Iran or N. Korea invaded any body recently? Have they persecuted another country or started killing someone other than their own people?

The Rules:
Killing your own people, fine. Killing your neighbors, prepare to be invaded, blown up, or have your chicken coup flattened by a food drop.

Pol Pot's regime killed between 1.5 to 2.3 million people (out of a country of 8 million) between 1975-1979 - sentenced to lifelong house arrest (not by the US though.)

Stalin - the number of deaths that occurred from unnnatural causes under Stalin is in the millions. We didn't step in.

Africa - killing their own people... we only stopped by briefly to help hand out food.

Hitler - Invaded Poland (and a few other neighbors); oops, had to be put in a ditch and lit on fire.

Saddam - Invaded Kuwait; oops again, found in a ditch but the price of gasoline had risen so death by fire was too costly.

Milosevich - Mass killing in Kosovo. (Technically, they started... but there was a whole lot of side switching going on, I lost track of it all around Act III.) Arrested & tried for War Crimes. Died in jail with only 52 hours of testimony left to hear; What ever happened to due process?

See it's simple; just don't bother your neighbors when you go about murdering people.
