Hello, I'm new to this forum, but I would like to say hi to all you animal lovers! I've worked with animals for most of my working life, and every animal I come across teaches me something new. I work mostly with horses in an animal welfare charity centre these days. I myself have been claimed by 4 cats, 2 dogs 3 horses all of whom are rescues, but are my knights in shining armour!

Most recently my eldest cat chloe has had to have one of her eyes removed due to an ucler, but I'm amazed at how she adapted so quickly. My youngest cat oscar is the most mischeivious cat I've ever had the privelage to have in my life! But being burmese, its part of who he is, and I would'nt have it any other way!!! The middle two cats, Kitty and Casey are both strays that found my heart, but most of all beds and food!!!

I have a Gordon setter, Ricky and a Collie, Rosie who never leave my side, both were left to starve when they were pups. They love their food, yet its hard to keep weight on due to poor nutrition in their puppy hood. They are very active and love the country life, but also the odd car ride.

I've had my two ponies since they were foals and are now 7 and 8 yrs, both riding and one is also driving too. My 4 yr cob I've only had for the last year, and have only just backed him for riding last summer. They all teach me something in their own way. Enjoy every moment with them.purple heart

My neighbour would take care of a cat for two weeks but
that is where she draws the line.

I have two Pomeranians. They were gifts to my daughter, but I take care of them. I have gotten attached to them, they are my buds. I have been single (not alone) for a long time, and find that I really enjoy their company. They are characters. I can talk to them, and they just look at me, twisting their head, like they are listening.

They are sitting next to me right now.

I've got two dogs. Toby is a black toy poodle with poor eyesight and selective deafness. He's 13 now and going a bit senile. Sometimes he gets up to go in the garden then forgets what he was going to do and when we're out for a walk if he ends up facing the wrong way he starts walking back home because he's forgotten where he was going.

The other one is Dylan, a 5 year old Yorkshire terrier who is just a juvenile delinquent, tears about the place like something possessed and keeps trying to bite Toby's legs. Toby can't mind that much as they're always curled up together at night.

I have rescued several dogs over the years from bad owners and found good homes for them. The last dog we rescued we called Little Dog, she was about 13 years old and was the kindest and most loving little dog you could imagine. We had her for 2 years then she recently got sick. angel

My room mate, does she count?

I mean, I don't technically own her, but I have to clean up after her all the time. It is infuriating.
