Oh la la she is a beautiful girl for sure.
When the people show off their "babies" and
open the hood you see all the crome and practicly
a brand new engine.
Lots of moola has gone into it.

druidess6308: OK...I think you posted the vet thing on the wrong thread that you started...

I used to own a 1973 Mercury Comet...she was my first car. Totaled her 10 days after I got my license. I bought a 1963 Chrysler Newport next, complete with push-button automatic shift. Really cool car, owned that one for years. Had someone hit me and then she was vandalized while she waited at the shop for me to come up with the money for the repairs and parts she needed. (I only had liability insurance on her.) Both were beauties, and I loved them dearly.

I had not noticed that I was in the wrong thread rolling on the floor laughing

I know where you're coming from, I was also trying to restore a very British car, but kept it quite because so many thought it was a joke, but to me any mechanical thing has a form of beauty, and when restored the pride in oneself always wipes out those who were so disparaging. Audry ignore those who who criticise and just do what you feel is righthead banger When I drove my car out of the garage all completed and looking better than in a showroom, the looks on friends faces was a picturetongue and guess who asked if they could have a ride in it, yep the very ones who had told me it was all a waste of time and moneylaugh

Together with some friends I rebuilt a 1950 Land Rover SWB, we drove it across France/ Spain and then across to North Africa by ferry, tried to get to Egypt but it fell apart and died, crying At 18 years old it was a great adventure and the LR still has a place in my heartapplause

I don't know if you'd call it a classic, but I have 1968 Ford LTD. I am only the 2nd owner of the car. The first owner is my brothers mom-in-law, who bought it new in 1968. I'm told that was the last year that Ford used chrome bumpers on that model.
