mindfful: ive known a number of muslim people

they are just people

all made by the same god arent they?
and what they choose to do is between him and them

i am just to love them (my neighbor)

after the law was put away after the perfect sacrifice there were only 2 commandments left us
love your neighbor as yourself
love your god

love is an action-to love god is to please him and be obedient
he never commanded us to be the town crier or point fingers at anyone

and we are to be loving kind and accepting to ourselves
as well as our neighbors

i just feel sad when people cant care about their neighbor
because it means they are also not loving themself and that makes me sad on so many fronts

good piece of advice i got once-look for the similarities and not the differences and its amazing how similar we are, as we were made-
tho our choices may be different we are to see the loveable part of ourselves and others

... and this was the response of the Majority of Muslims living in Britain...

Other Muslims maintained that the protesters were extremists not representative of mainstream British Muslims:
Asghar Bukhari, chairman of the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, said the demonstration in London should have been stopped by police because the group had been advocating violence.

He said the protesters "did not represent British Muslims".

Mr Bukhari told the BBC News website: "The placards and chants were disgraceful and disgusting, Muslims do not feel that way.

"I condemn them without reservation, these people are less representative of Muslims than the BNP are of the British people."

He said that Muslims were angry over satirical cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published in European papers but it was "outrageous" for anyone to advocate extreme action or violence.

"We believe it [the protest] should have been banned and the march stopped.

"It's irrelevant whether it's Muslims causing hatred or anyone else — freedom of speech has to be responsible."

I´ve made the same point on other threads as well... to tar all Muslims with the same brush is the same as saying all Christians are like the Christian Militant groups.

No....only if they were all Muslim extremists. Muslims are by far a peaceful people. It would be like saying all Christians blow up abortion clinics.

We haven't heard about a lot of stuff here in the US. We try and try to avoid race riots and especially w/ the current climate, we do not need to bring about a lot of hateful news such as this. I know of several muslim individuals and they are quit sweet people. Of course they left the Middle East to get away from such things I assume, but maybe I am just being nieve.

Unlike me...???? did you not see my screen name... IBIZA as in Spain... for 6 years... born in Scotland, grew up in America and spent 3 1/2 years backpacking around the world, staying with families, hosteling, guest houses... experiencing other cultures and ways of life.

Other influences only help to open peoples minds to new and different ways of living, of looking at things. It´s narrow minded cynics like yourself who are to afraid to experience and embrace things that may be different from how you grew up or what you know, that create problems.

Because something is different does not mean it should be "stomped out" This attitude in this day and age... with the global community in which we live is unbelievable to me...

As far as the rest of your drivel goes... you don´t know the first thing about me. So as far as making judgements about how I feel about myself... you can just fuck off

My experience has been that I have been to Kuwait three times as well as to Bangkok and HatYai,
Thailand on three different occasions. When in Kuwait I spent the entire time during Ramadan two
differenet times. I've been to Kuwaiti homes (not military) and have been shown generosity, kindness,
hospitality, and above all, they extended their peace. My daughter lives there with her children. She is Muslim.

I have no confusion as to who I am... I consider myself a global citizen and enjoy the qualities and differences of all cultures. I am grateful for each and every opportunity that comes my way to learn and understand those around me.

I must say that it´s good to see you coming around to one realization... I am superior to the likes of you and understand your inability to comprehend what I say... being as narrow minded as you are... however I give the rest of the people on CS a bit more credit then you do and believe they have no problem understanding me. I´m really sorry if I make you feel inadequate.
