yes rock as i know or knew it is dead, but there are some great new music out by classic era rockers, and some newer artists within the last 10 years like, the mermen, scott morgan, wilco, ian hunter, alot depends on what you dig, the radio is and never was very interesting or informitive as it relates to music,
at least not corprate radio.i should mention that scott morgan and ian hunter ar rockers from the 60's-70's but with very good new stuff, if you did'nt catch them the first time around do so now. check out scott morgan's medium rare, or anything with powertrane, the solution, hydromatics, he's been busy, each of those are of a different style of rock, and ian hunters latest shrunked heads is exellent, like i said it all depends on an open mind and what it is that appeals to you. check out things that may have slipped past you the 1st time around. its new to you if you have'nt heard it before even if its something from 1966 or came out yesterday. rock on.:

i might add that alot of new music by new bands i really don't get off on, but same could be said for alot of the popular stuff way back when. i've seen guitar heros like lonnie mack playing to 150 people or dick wagner in front of 20 people and totally change your life, but have seen the so called big names play to 20'000 and be lame and want my money back. open our minds don't get in a trap, the man wants you that way, be free!!! don't be spoon fed by the man, thats why rock is dying, take a chance and be free.cheers

I truly think so!

The big rock in my yard has not moved in over 15 years, it just sits there.

I even tried putting a pretty girl rock beside it....nothing!

(How did I know it was a girl rock?blushing I turned it over and it had a crack.)

I think rock is dead!grin

heartbreaker99: Im an avid listener of classic and hard rock. Sabbath,Floyd,Maiden,Deep purple,Glenn Hughes etc. Every where I go I hear hip hop or new country music. Both make me wanna stab my eardrums out!Just wondering if anyone else feels this way.Or maybe rock is dead.

Don't think so.......still get impressed by some of the newer bands that keep on evolving as time progresses......the overall texture changes.....but the excitement of the performances shows still infuses enjoyment on listening to them play......

example.....lately I have discovered and been listening to Kings of Leon.......they somehow passed the same thrill as when I hit in a very young Springsteen way back in my youth.....

the UMPH is still there in the music all right.....all you have to do is listen.....

Ah man, I would love to see bowie, my sister saw the Stones, Ron Wood lives up the road from me here in Ireland, Hes a very nice guy big into painting, Walters is brilliant but has a major chip on his shoulder over Pink Floyd but Id say he was good live

Rock aint dead, it never will be as long as Im alive! You cant get any better than a heavy bass line with a screaming guitar and a drummer who acts like a human version of animal!!
