A few weeks ago I met a lady through some friends. I had only met her and these friends for coffee a couple of times, talked on the phone a couple of times.

The day before Thanksgiving, she had some outpatient surgery. Her girlfriend took her home and left her alone, she was still a little under the weather from being knocked out. It appears she got up to potty and take a pain pill, she took to many and it appears to have caused a heart attack. He roomie found her the next morning and called 911.

Long story short, she did some kind of damage to her right leg and cannot walk on it, she is in a Care Center for rehab, physically therapy. It is 5 minutes from me and I know what it is like to lay in a hospital for days. Mom & I go visit her every morning & evening for a few minutes.

It appears she has "feelings" we have never discussed (she is a very nice and cute lady). Yesterday and frequently several young ladies are at my house, none of them have a true relationship with their fathers. Three were here yesterday afternoon and for dinner, one had her 3 daughters with her.

Last night, I told Cheryl that I was a lucky man, I had 7 women at my dinner table and I was the only male. She said, "The next time I am in a relationship, "I" will get ALL of the attention".. I find this insane jealousy and being very selfish.sigh

Any "thoughts"??

Is this where compromise comes into play? She gets all the attention and you get to be with her....and only her.giggle

Been there, done that.. Way to many times I have given up myself for another and it won't happen again.

I negotiated labor contracts for years, I do know a little about compromise and what she "wants", she would never get from me..rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Sounds to me like she thought that your discussions over coffee and on the phone were more than friendship. Some of us women and men misinterpret things like acts of kindness....visiting the rehab twice a day. dunno hug

My old ass has laid in a hospital bed for a few days at a time. I was grateful for those that cared enough to come visit often..grin

Just thinking that she took your kindness as much more is all. And it was really nice of you to visit her or anyone else in that situation. cheers

I am guessing she is feeling pretty vulnerable at the moment, and not at her most attractive, this can have an effect on a persons confidence.. I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet... particularly if you like her...

Also while jealousy is a horrible and destructive thing ultimately... a little light 'jealousy' can simply be an indication of someones sincere interest as opposed to some sinister controlling streak..

Good luck grin.. ya can't help it if you are irresistable wink

cheers

Jealousy is the rot of any friendship or relationship, doesnt matter the cause of the lack of confidence within the person..it will still eat away at the one on the receiving end..just not worth the emotional upheaval

Very wise take on the situation, I would add you should be honest with her about how you feel.

Also see her statement as a possible red flag as it does sound very jealous.

I agree that serious jealousy is like a nasty acid that corrodes all it touches, but have you never experienced the 'light' kind.. my ex used to sorta puff out his chest, stand tall and come put his arm around me when he thought another guy was flirting.. I found it funny and kinda cute..... it never bothered him that I had male friends though, just as it didn't bother me that he had lots of female friends, cause I knew he was the faithful type.. most people are..

The fact that she has turned feelings that were never even discussed into a relationship would be a bigger red flag for me than jealousy for me I think....jealousy she has no right even feeling given that you don't have a relationship.....HMMMMMMMMMMMM....Something really wrong with this whole picture....wave wink roll eyes dunno uh oh
