I'm just wondering your opinion on this. Do you think people who are "better looking", "smarter", "wealthier", etc., get treated better or more advantages than others?

Yes, which puts me at a considerable disadvantage.

Yes but it's stereo-type hyped by the media....better looks...smarter....wealth...are far from determining and setting the bar above the rest....these things don't mean squat when it comes to being a better person....wave wink roll eyes hug teddybear

Yes...but that doesn't mean they end up with a better life. I'm also not saying it's fair, just reality.

In my opinion if you are wealthier it can buy you advantages...

If a female capitalises on her looks she can become wealthier which in turn brings her advantages.

Smarter can be an advantage or a disadvantage.... the smart kid who nobody understood and everyone saw their head in a book, called the class nerd.

A waitress in a eatery is going to be more attentive to wealthy clients as she knows she will get a better tip than she will from the family of mom, dad and the four kids sat at the next table.

Yes owen, we are talking. But philosophically speaking, you are probably viewing me much more as a lost puppy dog than a giant stallion riding horsemen with flowing hair and the body of a god. grin

uuuuuuummmmm. Yes It shouldn't be that way, by reality is reality..

I known many of people that hired someone, because of their looks, I have never, but I'm an asshole, I hire and tip according to their performance, experience, and competence... But even though most people say that, most are lying....cheers

I had seen a study that was done on TV once... very interesting. A woman dressed up to look different. They made her up to be heavier, with glasses, out-of-date clothing, etc. She barely got any help, when needed. Then, she walked down the street as herself, very attractive, made-up, stylish clothing... people (mainly men) were falling over themselves to help her.

Yes definitely especially the ''better lookin''.

There was a Debate on a radio show here not so long ago about whether you would want your
child to be Good Lookin or Intelligent and I was really surprised at the amount of people who would
prefer good looks. Amazed me but they are treated differently.

I think they already have more advantages than others around them, but the treatment they receive may actually become worse out of pure envy.

It's scientific fact that this works as exactly as you would expect.

I am not noticeable and therefore blend very well into the background.

Just as well, as when i am up front and visible all i get is grief

I'll add something else aslo...

people who know they are good looking have been treated with so much favortism there whole life even EXPECT to get hired or get a raise above everyone else. I've seen this many many many of times.

I had a pretty girl that was working as a dietary aide for me at a nursing home ( of all places) cuss me out and quit because I give a serving position to an (well) not so pretty girl, because the pretty one, worked too slow to do the job in a timely fashion... The pretty girl said, and I quote "those old people don't want to look at that ugly ass b$tch. Why did you give the job to her? Is she F#cking you or something...... then she said f$ck this job and left.....

needless to say all I could do is laugh my ass off. but I had to do my job and hers that day...

cheers

In 7th grade I purposely failed the exam for the "GATE" program... it´s hard enough to get accepted by your peers when your mother makes you wear dresses instead of jeans to school... never mind being separated into a special class for smart kids. The things I had to do to prove that I was "cool" and not a nerd or geek...laugh
