It is the verbal hateful diatribe of VU on the site that has angered myself as well as others. Even other atheists could not convince him to stop his angry repetoire as it appears that they too were getting tired of this. The only comparison to Hitler is the repititious hateful angry words that he continued to spew in every one of his forums: Is it Sane to Believe-Dec 9; Proof the Bible Is Wrong-Dec 12; and then again today with Why Atheists Are Angry-Dec 18th. It is obvious that he is not just trying to state his views but be judge, jury and henchman and crush, demean and spew hatred of anyone else's religious views. He is an angry man in general and seems to enjoy getting others fired up angry and fighting and using the forums as his personal battleground. He is antagonistic even in his opening forum statements. I cant condemn VU's anger Lilly as I see that different experiences bring out varied reactions in people and we are all entitled to our opinions.

It isnt so much about the Higher Power in the supernatural sense Lilly, its more, certainly in my own case, of acknowledging the higher power within ourselves and owning my own behavior. I have searched many religions, not just one as is the case with many of the dissenters, and found my own niche. The Bible calls people fools for not believing which I see has permeated much of the attitude of its adherents and is in itself responsible for much divisiveness.

Another divisive yet common fallacy is that Atheists cant possibly have any moral standards and this to me is a more than bizarre claim on the part of those who use it, in fact, I do believe it is sometimes intentionally used in order to frighten people away from Atheists but the top and bottom of it is, morality exists as something quite separate from any of the religions and its basic precepts originated alongside other basic imperatives such as consideration assuring mutual survival or any of the other benefits of learning to work together.

Buddhism or Taoism in comparison, recognise stages of enlightenment and impose no dogmatic 'thou shalts'.

Monotheism, all branches, has a vested interest in keeping its adherents on board and has historically used many tricks to this end, these have often resulted in wars where many lives have been lost yet also, many fortunes made.
