Joktan: How come birds can mate for LIFE and we cannot?
Some can.
And some do.
..Some birds talk, so don't say its because they can't communicate.
Thank you for posting this. I have a lot of birds visit my home.
Natives, and pigeons. I often watch pairs of pigeons in my garden. A couple of seasons ago, it was a particularly hot summer, and I always put out a bowl of fresh water for the birds.
But that one day, I forgot. The next day, I went out to the back yard, and saw a pigeon lying on its back under one of the trees. its mate was hovering over its body.
My heart broke when I saw that scene.
And I felt so responsible!!!
