1980'sONJ was a huge shiny star in the late 70's & early 80's. I was about 8 years old when I developed my first innocent crush on any woman. I loved watching her perform the songs "Magic" and "Let's get physical" on Solid Gold as I kid. I was in awe of her magical voice, beauty and headbands!
My curiosity for french kissing took on new levels of excitement and anticipation after watching Brooke Shields in The Blue Lagoon which included a number of nude scenes between teenage lovers on a deserted island. I was inspired to reenact certain scenes by the pool (kissing only) with my neigbor Julliane as I told her that she had to be Brooke Shields. It never materialzed, but the crush for Shields remained.
An American original, Madonna became the the biggest, nerviest pop star of her generation. She built MTV (along with Michael Jackson) as the coolly seductive Material Girl and spawned young copycats. I remember her big breakthrough hit and video 'Borderline', and I was in love.
The crush only grew stronger with her next big hit "Like a virgin". I truly felt shiny and new as I eagerly anticipated her video on MTV's top twenty countdown.
My room was saturated in Madonna posters when I was 11/12 years old. Oddly enough, this is the age that I became really curious while I stared at her in that provocative swimsuit poster on my wall with the door locked.
Immediately after watching The Breakfast Club as an overstrung teen, my infatuation for redheads begun. She inspired me to only date redheads once I hit high school and college.
