depends on what you mean by the word "know"...

I don't even truly know myself most of the time...I think I'll concentrate on that first. One of the best ways of working toward that is paying attention to how we relate to others, though, so there is definately merit in reaching out to others.

I was just wandering if the ones that are friends do any communicating besides online?

I'm in another group and I've had the pleasure of conversing with several by phone. Not every day or anything like that, but once in awhile just to talk, as real life friends would.....

Or am I just strange......

I´m genuinely interested in getting to know people... would like it if I got the chance to meet in RL some of the people I talk to online...but living on an island makes it difficult, you can´t just jump in your car and drive 5 or 6 hours...I have to take a flight or a boat even to meet someone just 100 miles away.

Well, I was just refering to online friends talking on the phone like real life friends do....... that's all.

No worries. I've been on the net since its inception in 95, and met and talked with many great people...

I've also met and talked with some not so great people...

You pays your $$ and you takes your chances, I suppose.

Funny. I was thinking of this topic this very morning. I was compiling a mental list in my head of some of the people that have posted threads online that I would genuinely like to spend a few hours with. It would be interesting to chat and understand some of the influences in their lives that make them have particular views. Funnily enough, some of the top on my list are those that cause a negative reaction in my heart (by their posts). Others are people I know I would have a great laugh with over a few glasses of wine. We should start a 'Who do you want to meet and why' thread.

I would like to have some more personal contact with those who are real even if it doesn't lead to a 'relationship'.

I don't spend much time posting here... written conversation is time consuming and my brain doesn't normally work that way anymore.

My truck's still in the shop this week, it's cold outside and I haven't been off the property. Laundry and basic housecleaning has been done... The forums are a distraction for me since I don't watch much TV, but I really must get back to planning my garden for spring.

I not only talk to people on this site, but in my daily activites also. I like to have alot of friends, but only one will qualify as my lover.

I'm interested in getting to know others, and am getting to know others by reading and typing here in the forums...JMO

I've been getting to know others here in the forums too, what little time I can spend here before and after work hours. But hopefully, that will be changing soon and I'll get to be in the forums alot more......
