Perhaps you are not familiar with fasting. Many people fast and pray in obedience to God. Some deny themselves of food for a period of time in order to gain favor with God. But just how does it work? Does their fasting make a difference? Or do they still squabble and fight and cause discord with their fellow man?
God tells us in Isaiah 58 that He is not pleased with their fasting and that what pleases Him is this:

Isa 58:6 "The kind of fasting I want is this: Remove the chains of oppression and the yoke of injustice, and let the oppressed go free.
Isa 58:7 Share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless poor. Give clothes to those who have nothing to wear, and do not refuse to help your own relatives.
Isa 58:8 "Then my favor will shine on you like the morning sun, and your wounds will be quickly healed. I will always be with you to save you; my presence will protect you on every side.
Isa 58:9 When you pray, I will answer you. When you call to me, I will respond. "If you put an end to oppression, to every gesture of contempt, and to every evil word;
Isa 58:10 if you give food to the hungry and satisfy those who are in need, then the darkness around you will turn to the brightness of noon.
Isa 58:11 And I will always guide you and satisfy you with good things. I will keep you strong and well. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring of water that never goes dry.


If we live our lives in such a way, loving and helping mankind, it not only pleases God, but He also promises us good things!

How about you? Is this your lifestyle? Is the love in your heart backed up by actions?
If not, I hope that you would learn from this passage, that we all should live our lives in such a way as to make live better for all who come our way.

Be that helping hand.
Be that shoulder to cry on.
Be those arms which reach out in love.
Be those hands which help others.
Be LOVE!

its sad that this cannot be used as a Oath of Office or better still a mandatory rule of behavior for all the worlds heads of state.


You all have to admit this indeed is a pleasant thought to consider if even for a short while.comfort

Should we not all live our lives in such a way? Think of what a better world we would live in if we did. Perhaps God does make sence after all???

Our nation was established and rooted in God and in His ways.
Our laws came from the Bible.
Our government's Welfare programs were established because we, as a nation, chose to follow the commands of God... feed the hungry, clothe the naked, provide housing to those in need, etc.

There was a time, when our leaders took an oath, placing their hand on the Bible, swearing in Truth... and it ment something!!
Now, they do it and it means absolutely NOTHING... they will look you in the eye and LIE! And then feel no shame!!

It is a shame that corruption in our government and courts, which has made decisions against God, has taken us into the opposite direction, causing us to be a wicked Nation, now facing God's judgement.

We need GOD in America...
Again!!!
