Godslave: If you are an athiest, why do you bother to keep questioning a non-existant Being & what He said? I don''t understand that about athiests. They spend so much time arguing & debating about what they consider a non-existant Being. Why not discuss the Easter Bunny or Santa, as it would be all the same? Yet, they seem to be OBSESSED with talking continualy about God. If I didn't believe in someone's existance I'd find much better things to do with my time than discuss a non-existant Being. That's TOTALLY irrational to me!

Personally - am inclined to Buddhist teachings - no deity

The problem with the Bible, God, Jesus, etc..."believers" is they have a "Blind Faith" that can be dangerous - politically and socially.

Christian Churches are taking more hard earned money from Americans than the Lottery or Casino Gambling combined (which I also do not approve of). They are "selling" Jesus, God, Salvation - and making big monies

The Power of Television and internet is making Christianity even more "Powerful" and "Mind Controlling"

So, am more concerned with my fellow human beings having their minds "made up" or "controlled" by the Christian Elmer Gantry's selling religion in our country.- Just watch some Trinity Broadcast Network sometime - Lots of obsessive/blatant selling there - with their scrolling footnotes on why to send money - how much they need, How soon they need the money, etc...

IMO - Peace peace

I like hearing about stuff like this. I doubt we;ll solve any major puzzles but it helps me to hear other's thoughts and opinions. It also makes me think I'm in the right place to know that so many others ask these questions too.

For me I have never been confortable majoring on the minors. I dont mean to say the passage is not important. I just mean, what works for me, is trying to view individual passages in light of the overall message. Sometimes after racking my brain I end up back at square one when Jesus summed it all up by saying "Love one another".

And like another post refered to free will. Will I be following a predestined path if I do this or make that decision? That can drive a person nutz! I have an agreement with myself. It may or may not work for anyone else, but I try not to ponder questions I know I cant find an answer to. Probably as many opinions as people asked.

Thanks for the post

Dan
