dcj22: It's not flat! My dog has to stand sideways to hike his leg onto the pile of snow to pee. Little idiot sticks his pecker right into the snowdrift. He's cute, but not very bright.

Up to 8 degrees now, but it's snowing and windy.

I'm going shopping. I'm not very bright either.

It's funny as hell to watch. Then he runs around and straight back to the door. I actually think I'll have to get the little woos a sweater! laugh

Maggie, the black one, loves the snow. She just runs around in it.

Oh, dogs are comical, no doubt. I stepped out for a smoke break and the dogs went with me. I came back in and closed the door, and heard my female thud her paws right onto it, like "mommy, I want in NOW!" I still have the tears from laughing at her.

two days ago a man driving home and only 1mile from his home veered off the road and found himself in a ditch he decided to walk the rest of the way to his home as it was but a mile a short jaunt ..the wind and the snow was blowing making it impossible to see he became disorientated his body was found the next day he was frozen to death and was only several hundred yards from the safety of his own home ...he had a cell phone it does little good in this extreme weather the battery freezes and they do not work.People should stay in there vehicles if they go off the road and the authorities who are ever on the alert here to serve and protect(so where the f*#@ were they?) will find them .We live in a sick society there are no "good samaritans" much anymore ..especially do to the terrorist type thinking noone bothers to help or to lend a hand and tradgedys like this could be avoided so easy if only they did....how many vehicles passed this man while he struggled to free his car?Even some of the snowplows men who must clear the roads do not stop but rather they speed up to bury a stranded car even deeper and laugh at there neighbours calamity as they do..I have to go plow and shovel in a few moments I pray I may help someone if they need it..have a nice day.

What Joe posted reminded me of what happened to my great Grandpa. A winter storm hit while him and his friends were out hunting. Grandpa had managed to shoot a deer on their way back. The visibility was poor when they walked up on the deer, they couldn't tell that it was still alive. It got up and stomped my Grandpa nearly to death. His friends got so scared they took off and left him to crawl back to his house. He managed to get on the front porch before taking his last breath.......very mad The world is so full of kind-hearted people like that.

Some friends your Grandpa had ..and afraid of a deer ...preposterous!
A pack of coyotes or wolves or a bear I could almost fathom..ALMOST..but to leave him there to make his way home alone, sheesh
I remember when I lived in Alaska I was chased by a moose only because I tried to pet her calf which I thought was all alone cuzz it was cryin for her momma which I assumed was shot or kilt by a grizz
Anyhow she chased me up a tree and wouldn't leave me be for hours she was so miffed finnally her calf wandered off and she was compelled to follow it so I made my escape..then I got my self into a bears fishing spot ,the bears scratch the trees to show this is my space beware..well I didnt know this ..so I was fishing and along comes the owner mrs.bear and I ran they say your not supposed to run but I sure did!I went back a few weeks later and recovered my fishing pole and tackle box...
fun huh?Sorry for your loss btw merk

We live in a sick society there are no "good samaritans" much anymore ..especially do to the terrorist type thinking noone bothers to help or to lend a hand and tradgedys like this could be avoided so easy if only they did....how many vehicles passed this man while he struggled to free his car?Even some of the snowplows men who must clear the roads do not stop but rather they speed up to bury a stranded car even deeper and laugh at there neighbours calamity as they do...

I doubt it's due to any external influences confused

Bless his heart.

My grandfather was robbed by 2 men he knew and thrown from a moving train. His right arm and leg were cut off. He did live though. And those 2 men that did this to him lived in the same town all of those years. My grandfather held public office so they had to see him at times, if only during election time.

You are right about so many people that will not stop to give somebody a hand. I myself have pulled others out the dish in Sparta as well as New London. What you need to relies that its illegal to pull somebody out of a dish for somebody can hit you when pulling somebody els out. My father found this out when pulling somebody with a tractor on the farm. So he pulled him through the field and got him on his way. I myself had pulled others out sent them on there way before I ever get busted for doing so, seems to work.

Hi laura,

Long time no see. Yes, I experienced a bit of NY cold in '96, when I gave up on umbrellas, cos the wind just turned them inside out.

Yeppers, nice and warm here. 30C right now. Just got back home.

Keep warm. I will do my best to send lots your way.
